Hello, I am brand new here, and missed the lvl 7 tag. I read on the wiki:
"If you discover you are missing an accomplishment, have passed the level at which it can be achieved and are not yet immortal you can either de-level your character at the Ascension High Priest in town (this may potentially cost you a lot of experience points) or you can use the Reincarnation function and obtain it whilst you are re-levelling your character."
Because I had RDD, the priest wasn't an option. I went to 21, reincarnated (also messed that up and lost a bunch of non-random items, but that was my own stupidity), stopped levelling at 5 to be safe, got the lvl 7 tag, finished levelling only to find that the lvl 7 tag was taken away as it mirrored my original tags.
Is this what it is supposed to do?

Yes. That is working as intended. A proxy has to be made. Alternatively, if you want to grind the system a little you can reincarnate, earn all of the tags again and then not reclaim what you did before. It allows you to fix the mistake without needing a proxy but just involves a ton of work and is only truly a viable option if you’re under level 40.

Thanks for your answer.
If I may comment, this solution seems quite harsh, especially for new players and for pre LL.
It also doesn't help the wiki isn't clear!

It is now as I've added an extra line in about not being able to fill in accomplishments on reincarnation and directing people to the Proxy Characters page if they need to do this. In the grand scheme of things (I know it may sound harsh to a new player) it is really not a huge deal as it is extremely unlikely that people play the first character they make on HG to level 80 as at some point they will get access to better subraces then leave that first character in the vault possibly forever or at least until they obtain the requisite items to reincarnate it to a better subrace. Personally I have a load of characters from a long time ago missing one or more pre-LL accomplishments (they didn't actually exist when those characters were being played although the database does hold records so you will get any accomplishments they did obtain), if I decide that I fancy playing them in LL I'll make a proxy at that point to fill in the accomplishment gaps as 5% exp is not the end of the world when you are just playing to level 60 (can get it on one or two LL runs max) but going to level 80 its a lot!

Big warning: proxy characters with missed tags need to be immortal before they can be merged. If you are below 40 and worried about a missed tag, proxy makes little sense - it will essentially double the work needed. It will be less effort to start a completely new character, rather than proxy at that point.

They actually need to be level 41 not just immortal. Unfortunately you picked the class (Dragon Disciple) that it is impossible to delevel at the priest due to the free stat bonuses it gets and the possibility of creating an invalid character (if you make a class that allows Feat swaps to characteristic points this will kick in at that point as well). The moral of the story is regularly keep an eye on your accs just to make sure you've not missed any and worst case get your character to LL as fast a you can then you can create an Proxy to fill in missing accomplishments at your leisure, if you do this before your original character hits level 60 the most exp you'll lose is 625k on that character (although you could justifiably count the exp to get the Proxy to 41 on top if you felt like it) and whilst that might seem like a lot it is in fact not more than some LL runs will give you even without bonus exp.

Most classes wouldn’t have this issue for a players first character. Also, while I view these tags as required, they aren’t truly required.
