Why were bracers of resiliance (and greater) changed to gloves? Don't we have enough deflection bonus items (rings, cloaks, helms, belts, etc). It was nice to have another armor bonus choice.

My guess is Funky felt the dexer AC was growing out of control (see Slag and Leadfoot) and wants to reserve the higher Armor AC bonuses for equalizing that a bit.

Hiryuu's guess is correct. It was to narrow the ac gap between dexers and others a bit. I think 10-12 would be optimal, and it was around 18 points, 111 vs 129 I think. That took 2 points away from it, making it 16 or so, so I will probably add a bit of non-dexer gear as well. In truth, I never intended them to be armor ac, was a bit of an oversight, as it nullified all the careful differentiating of armor acs I'd done. Of course, the upcoming desert and illithid areas will feature creatures with far less physical immunities, giving strength builds back a bit of their zing, so too much more in the ac department may not be needed. It has the added advantage of freeing up dexers to wear more than one type of bracer/glove.

It was nice as armor for us poor wizards, though, since there is little else I have found useful for the arm slot. Though I still do wear it for the immunities and the like...
