Innate water breathing should make a character immune to the drown spell.
Example: Siren Why: it got drowned by a shrike If you're breathing water normally and more water gets in your lungs, you should be fine.

As much as it makes sense, it would probably create a dangerous precedent. Every time a similar idea floats around forums, the outcome is always the same. If you were to grant water breathing subbies (or PMs for that matter) immunity to Drown, people will start asking for more to the point of throwing balance out of whack. Next you have levitation making you immune to EQ and RG (similar to what monster have), etc. The tendency is to slowly get rid of spell immunities in general (especially immunity to spell level on gear), or make them harder to obtain. Recently for instance you saw immunity to necro moved from Shadow Shield to CL 55+, before that spell lvl immunity was disconnected from EV and pretty sure more are coming.
In the spirit of past responses: sure, let's give water breathing subbies Drown immunity... and also make Horrids insta kill them on failed save.

I agree with Outcast. The low level water breathing ring also grants spell immunity to drown. These two certainly go together. If you have water breathing you would still need to wear a ring or item that grants you drown immunity. I would think the bonus of having water breathing would negate having to do so otherwise you still need to use an item, and like the water ring, some have both. This seems redundant.

I have used a high level summons IX or XIII and fixed the summons to water breathing and they are immune to drown attack so why not a subrace that has that feature listed ? If water survival listed a subrace should be immune to drown, personally I think this maybe have been over-looked...
