I was reading an earlier post by ironfang and was happy to see someone as confused about this as me. In the replies it stated that this attack works under the same circumstances as the sneak attack so that maybe his assassin just wasn't hitting the (baddie) or the monster was immune to such attacks. Well when I'm hitting the (baddie) I am seeing the floating text for sneak yet nothing for death attack. Is this right , my assumption is that when my death att. becomes larger in dice # then my sneak att. the floating text will switch over, once again I'm fairly new is this the case
Thanx

Don't worry, sneak attack and death attack stack, though I think the sneak will always show if you have both. Not sure though, it's been awhile since I played one. The only thing to watch out for is a bug with improved sneak attack. It only stacks with death attack if you have at least one sneak attack feat, at least as of build 1.65. I'm not sure if they fixed that in 1.66 or not. It screws with the ranger/sd/assassin build and a few others. Funky

Dang it, now my assassin is screwed twice over, first for not picking Monk over SD for my non-ranger level, and now wasting 2 Improved Sneak Attack feats

Mebbe not, I'd verify that in tests if I were you, since 1.66 might've fixed that bug, I really don't know. Make a [TEST] character, ding em up to 39 with all death and improved, then take a level of rogue at 40 for the reg sneak, and see if your damage increases greatly. You'll need a dm to spawn test creatures as you level, to see how the average damage changes. Just ask me when I'm on next, or flg down another dm. I plan to add a few test critters to the test area, but thats lower proirity than alotta the other stuff I'm working on atm. Funky
