Wasn't sure where to put this thread, as I know by experience they're the most annoying threads of all.
Hi, my player name is Mahrke, long-time player, recently returned to NWN in general. Kudos! You've done it, my high level mage is finally enjoyable to play (or, so it seems at this point, the spell changes look nice though.)
I, however, do have a few requests. First, I find myself without a ring of water-breathing, and I am informed it is neccessary to get into one of the newer, neater areas. Any chance of Mahrke Kalarcan gleaning one, without having to delevel his 37 self to 10?
Secondly, subraces. Woot woot, subraces. I'd like to be a Moon Elf. I know having admins leto stuff for hapless characters is a pain, sooo, perhaps one of these days, when I catch a DM on, they could strip Mahrke Kalarcan of all items/levels, and give them to a soon-to-be born replica of the mage?
Thank you for listening, and I look forward to playing on what looks to be an even more improved server. -MK

First, I find myself without a ring of water-breathing, and I am informed it is neccessary to get into one of the newer, neater areas. Any chance of Mahrke Kalarcan gleaning one, without having to delevel his 37 self to 10? Yes, see the soldier in the building with the 2 swords out in front of it (its by the graveyard in town). It will cost you though... Never heard of DMs doing that here, since its so easy to level, you're usually on your own for mistakes or changes. Given the fact that you also don't have a water breathing ring, you might save yourself a lot of time/money just deleting your character and starting over as a moon elf. I say time since it will probably take more time to get the money together than it would to relevel to 37. P.S. If you aren't married to Elf due to weapon profs., Air Genasi is a nicer Wizard choice IMO and non-secret as well (both won't count your Wizard levels against your classes, since wiz will be your highest). It gets the same Int and Dex, but 2 better Str and Con as compared to a Moon Elf. Plus an additional feat and 4 skill points at 1st level (plus 1 more/level after that). The immunities/vulnerabilities are relatively minor. Dave.

Yeah, there are water rings available via other means, and you just missed getting a levitation ring today as well - they were available in town since the 12th, but now are the same as water rings, gotta find em. I'll happily give you one of those, since you missed it by a hair, but as to water rings, you'll have to trade someone for a greater ring of water breathing (transferable, unlike the regular version, found in random loot drops as a high-level rare), or ask a dm for a quest for a regular one, or use one of the methods ralkain suggested. As for subraces, no, we dont retro them, you have to make a new character to benefit from them. Having all the leftover gear should make leveling a new character reletively easy, though there's a LOT of new gear since you left. And all in all, you probably WOULD be best served by starting a new character. Many of the changes to the server have tended to make older characters obsolete or at least non-optimal, but that's something every player has had to deal with. I myself have a vaultful of subraceless characters. In any case, welcome back! Funky

Yeah yeah, anyway, my new character is born. Mahrke the Loremaster (I couldn't keep my nice, shiny Mahrke Kalarcan name because of database issues.) And once again I rove into the deep depths of the Crypts, spewing scrolls of Fireball out my ass.
But yes, the new HG looks nice, and I look forward to those sweet, sweet higher levels once more. All the while I'll be singing my new song 'Mage are Useful Hooray'!
PS: Nice to be back, and thanks for the welcome.
