Boots of the first wizard. +16 ac Dodge, +12 Con, +8 Str, +8 Dex +15 discipline,+5 saves, knockdown immune, mind immune and maybe a few spell slots such as 666,777 as those are also needed and alot of the higher gear does give the 8 and 9 spell slots. You could also add some regen if these seem a tad weak for illithid gear, but this combo would fit a nice niche in any respectable wizards closet. A sorc version would probably fit as well as I have a feeling they have as hard a time fitting the above mentioned qualities into there wardrobe as well and you could make it only usuable by 30 + wiz or sorc levels.

Monolithic Construct Bracers: Bracer or Glove: 20/- BPS, +6 Physical Stats, Death Immunie, Level Drain Immunie, Mind Immunie
Pangeae's Awakening: Quiver: 2d12 all basic elemental types, keen if possible.
Outlander's Arsenal: Quiver: 2d12 all exotic dmg types, keen if possible.
Heaven Sent: Quiver: 2d12 Divine, Pos, Electric, Fire, Sonic, keen if possible
Hell Bent: Quiver: 2d12 Magic, Neg, Acid, Cold, Sonic, keen if possible.
They "Physicalist Gear" I suggested in the fighter improvent string might also fit, though it may need to be ramped up a bit.
(adapted from that post) The following style of "ftr gear" might be appropriate:
Shield, Tower: "The Brute's Bulwark" (possibly large so size class small can also play) --25% immunity to bps**** --Sneak Immune --+12 shield bonus --+6 str/con/dex --Immunie: Implosion
Helm: "The Brute's Brazen Helm" --Deflection bonus of a lot --Mind immunie (key for loss of immo crown) --DR +12/10 or more**** --True Seeing/ultravision --Immunie: Bigby’s, Blind, Mass Blind, Sunbeam, Word of God

I say lets have some more artifacts! As far as I know, the only artifact in existence is the Ssthadi Ss'benat. It is a great limitation to have artifacts - encourages them to spread among people since you can't have 50 in your bank for tradebait.
Artifact weapons/staves/"torches"...armor, helms, or shields. The visible things. Kinda gives "pride bonus" as well as coolness factor.
