I just wanted to say I have thoroughly enjoyed playing on the Higher Ground servers as Jentarowynn. Within the first two minutes of logging on I knew I had come to the realization that this mod was different (was surprised when I went to open a chest by brute force the first time...) As I continued to play, the amount of customization kept amazing me...there were new things to be learned around every corner...and I still don't know everything (after roughly 6 months of playing). New items, level restrictions on parties, legendary levels!, real subraces!, areas galore...there is just so much to be found, done, and learned and it just keeps expanding! Another thing that I found amazing was the helpfulness of the veterans. As an ex-Diablo II player (yes "EX" - Higher Ground has helped me break that awful addiction...of course they created a new one in it's place, but that's life) I was used to the swearing, PK'ing, Cheating, battle-looting, and evilness that comes with MMORPGs. So when I stepped into HG and found very little (almost none) I was shocked. I admit, I swore on the shout channel...ONCE as a noob and never again(I had just been PK'd and being recent DII, I figured this was just another one of those type of servers, however the amount of tells and shouts back was enough to show me that this type of behavior was not tolerated...bravo! I try to go out of my way to help newbies now. Everyone is so helpful and I feel like I can talk to anyone on the server without being told I am stupid or such a noob. People HELP one another here! What a concept! I have made friends on HG. That would never happen on DII. So, I wanted to shout a BIG THANKS! to Funky and all the rest of the team that help build and take care of HG. Your hard work, time and dedication in making and improving HG is deeply appreciated and makes real life easier to bare. I can log on, relax and work solo or with a group of friendly and helpful people. I have to say thanks as well to all the players out there who make HG a wonderful and pleasant place to be.
Thanks!

Couldn't agree more. This module was put togeather by talent. I hope HG continues to grow as a community and module for the NWN community, because its one of the best I've ever seen.

Completely agree, I have to thank Holla who went out of his way to help optimise and push along my first immortal Westan Gald who is well on his way to lvl60. I find it extremely satisfying to help out noobs who want to learn and have partied with people who I would now describe as friends from various countries that I'll probably never visit but I feel I know them well. I've played on several PvP games and get cheesed off when your character gets mashed by somebody many times your level who then proceeds to pike your meager posessions to sell (because they obviously have no need for them) which is thankfully a rare event on Higher Ground. Long live HG and I'm sure I'll be playing here long after NWN2 is released.

I agree, HG has been a staple of my life for almost a year and a half now. I've seen the additions of new area after new area, each extremely fun and challenging (challenging when they were new at least , but still lots of fun). Every new feature added seems to worsen my addiction. And I really like that I have a voice in how HG evolves, unlike any other online game I've played. Funky, Arch, Baldy, Hiryuu, Dan, Av, Holla, Brena, and any other DM/builder I missed I have just one word of advice: Keep it up

As an HG player from waaay back (pre wipe), I couldn't agree more that much of what makes HG addicting and never boring is the incredible amount of work Funky and the others have put in into beating the scripting engine into a submissive pulp. But I would also put forward that soooo much of what makes this community great are the players themselves that are (for the most part) all easy to get along with and open to helping out, giving direction, and adding to the 'gestalt' what makes HG great.
So, keep it up, EVERYBODY!! ;D

Remember if you agree with the sentiments above as I also do (Thanks Funky and the DM team) go to NWVault, register and vote for HG and Funky's other projects on there.

Thanks ironfang! ;D Here are the links: RegisterHigher GroundLegendary LevelsSIMToolsSIMTools only ran briefly on the server due to a bug in the Linux version of the software pluin it uses. It will be returning soon, we hope. I just added 14 alternate languages to it! If you do decide to vote, make sure you don't just accidentally post a comment - that's a frequent mistake. Thanks! As my first post, I would like to agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments given above. I have only been playing on the HG for two weeks, but I have found it to be fun, freindly and totally addictive.
I played on Everquest for a couple of years, before becoming bored through its buggy nature and the inability to group with other players - unless you were willing to dedicate most of your waking time to EQ. I was therefore very pleased to find that not only was the quality of HG superior to EQ but there always seems to be someone ready to risk grouping with this newcomer and show me new areas and new monsters.
What makes a game like this is the quality of the design/implementation/maintainance and the quality of the community. As HG is outstanding on both counts, this means that you will be seeing a lot more of Vrok the Barbarian.
