Imo, Sorcerers give up a lot of flexibility in order to get their flexibility. Um... hope that makes sense. What would be useful though is to have the ability to reselect some of the spells after obtaining, say X amount of XP (yes I know, prolly not possible - just airing out an idea). Why? Well, the simple fact is that at lvl40 certain spells may be near-useless. HOWEVER, given that spells now ramp up, at lvl60; those same spells may be more useful. It would also allow you to breath more 'life' into your sorcerer; more reason to play that one character you love to play. Um. Ok, I hush now - since I've not yet played a mage on this server, these are just thoughts - nothing suggested, or asked. Yet.

Or, it could be that I'm not about to try because its moot. LLs have been out for so long, and the new clerid/druid epics out, so that most people who realized they built their character 'wrong' and can't take advantage of the new epics, or LLs entirely change their build planning...have gone and made new characters and junked the old one.
It may suck to lose the name and old build, but thats what people did - remade the character to take advantage of new epics spells or to 'fix' their build plan to include LLs and drop "useless" feats. If every other class did it for those changes, I don't see why sorcerers shouldn't have remake themselves for the spell change - which as far as we know, is final. Fixed spell selection is a feature of the class, for good or for bad.
Plus, everyone comes onto the server understanding that the rules can change at any time. Sorcerers included.

Ok, maybe this just seems so obvious to me that I haven't bothered to explain it well enough. You are likening allowing sorcerers to change their spell selections to redoing feats. The two are nothing alike, not even remotely. Bear in mind that in standard leveling, a sorceror (or bard, though they aren't really hurting nearly as much) can select COMPLETELY different spells every levelup. I would've added this feature to Legendary Levels had I thought it was possible, but I didn't. The fact that they cannot do this is a MAJOR disadvantage, one artificially imposed by the setup of the LL system. Before LL, to change spell selection all a sorcerer had to do was level. Even AFTER reaching 40, all you had to do was delevel to 39 and then gain 1 xp. Hardly a loss, unless you REALLY wanted to use your sorc to scribe spells instead of your wiz. Legendary levels also artificially prevent that, unfortunately. The artificial limits imposed by the LL system on sorcs are the unique disavdvantage to which I was referring, one which you no doubt woul've had an easier time seeing if you had actually played a sorc in the LL system. Needless to say, if I can give them back that ability, I'm going to. Funky

On a slightly different tangent do Sorc or Bard Pale Masters get to change their spells on PM levels? Im thinking of doing one but if they cannot then a sorc PM is basically a pile of crock (unless I stick in the odd Sorc level along the way, in which case I can never get 30Pm levels).

A sorc or bard PM sucks regardless, they keep diff spell lists. Funky
