Your party must have a good class combo and eq. We had a wiz, monk, wm/ftr, cleric, rogue/wm, all lvl 50, and to get from beginning of desert to furrow it took us about 6 hours, and by the time we got there everyone was pooped and it was 4 in the morning so we quit. Perhaps one day we will see dustbone .

No, wasn't pallys, was just good old swinging, combined with extreme coordination. Funky

To save you all the curiousity, it was a bard and a bane knight.

Too bad that bane knights really don't have the available feats or abilities to be an effective smiting machine while maintaining a decent character otherwise. Your average bane knight probably does no much more than 50 damage on a smite there; most of it disappearing due to the nature of the enemies there.

The Bane Knight in question never once used his smite ability. Baldy overestimated the damage my smite does by about 20.

Yeah, I gave a little buffer space for those naysayers who say that their average bane knight would have taken some Greater Smiting feats. A bare bones bane knight with no focus in smiting is pretty much just better off with a weapon...with their own 'smiting' abilities.

Besides, bane knights are part blackguard, and smite good is pretty much worthless in a module with all evil critters...except for Dachy, who is neutral.

Yes, Smite Good is pretty useless, but the Blackguard Greater Smite is rather good in the respect that it doesn't require the target to be a specific alignment. It just isn't capable of as much damage if the enemy has negative resistance/immunity.

Or is undead/extraplanar. Who cares if smiting is useless? It is for pallys/CoTs as well. The uselessness of smite in general was the reason we added Greater Smite. In any case, this thread is now thoroughly off topic, I'm gonna lock it. Funky
