I noticed that I'm only receiving a +8 to armor from Divine Shield, which is the modifier for my base stat of charisma. Now, Divine Might adds the extra modifier points from when I'm buffed, but not Shield. I just wanted to know if both duration and armor score use only base charisma modifier for Divine Shield. Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but you should be aware that dodge bonuses only stack up to 20 total, and all other armor types use the highest value only. Funky

Unless there is some major modification to the bonus in the scripting, your current charisma bonus [enhanced and naked] at the time of casting Divine Shield is taken for the bonus ac. It's so easy to get near the +20 cap on dodge that you're most likely hitting this ceiling (bard song, any item with dodge bonus - eg +10 ac boots, mage armor, undeaths eternal foe, etc).

Haste is 4 dodge bonus as well, and very often overlooked. Funky

Ah, wasn't aware that it was a dodge bonus. Alright, thanks.

Ok let me see if i've go this right, If you're wearing immo boots (+15 dodge) have haste (+4 dodge) and then use divine shield you will only get one more AC? Ouch, kinda makes divine shield a wasted feat once immortal.

Thats correct. That's why it adds the damage shield, which will be scaled for LLs. Funky

Blargh, forgot about that, too. Then everything is well.

This thread actually gave me an idea for an item. I will post it in the appropriate thread, but the basic idea is a powerful pair of Paladin and/or Blackguard boots that sacrifice dodge bonus to add some other powerful attributes. This would make the divine shield bonus useful, as well as strengthening these classes (especially blackguard). By not having much dodge bonus, the boots would not be that useful to other builds (sorc/pal/monk for example)

Not a terrible idea. I'm planning to do something similar for necklaces/amulets for other classes. Funky

Aye, that'd be good to see.
