Hi all, I was hoping that I could get some input on designing an undead hunter of some sort. Seems the undead thrive here on HG, and I'd like to make a character to specifically target these foul foes.
Would a cleric be the best approach? Paladin? I could see a cleric making good use of cure critical and heal on the undead, but... if a caster cleric, would he have enough AB to hit with a touch attack? If a melee cleric, would he have a good enough DC? Any ideas/approaches would be most welcome

What about turning? Get all the turning (divine shield, ...) feats and sun domain, focus on high charisma and wisdom (for turn outsider). You can destroy low level undead, for the higher ones you'd have a chance to turn (fear effect) them. About the spells: I already tested it...you can try to make touch attacks vs turned (panicked) creatures, but they will still get an attack of opportunity and they will keep attacking you (even when they're still turned) until you're at a certain distance (don't know exactly, maybe it's the same as the one for a ranged sneak attack or point blank shot bonus). But you can use every heal spell that affects more creatures (e.g. healing circle, mass heal) to damage undeads too (I think there was a post about illithids or whatever spamming mass heal on their allies...and damaging shifters in undead forms). When used on the ground or a friendly creature (e.g. party member) you don't need to make a touch attack; so you can perform a heal for your party and still damage every undead in the spells aoe. Maybe you could take healing domain for empowered effects of healing spells, altough you cannot empower them "twice" (one from the domain, one from the feat) and I'm not sure about maximizing an empowered heal; could work, but I never tested.

Caster cleric is probably your best bet at the moment. Turning is somewhat broken on HG at the moment, though it's on the todo list. Funky

Mmmm, Mass heal does have a certain sinister feel to it, as does healing circle - thanks for the suggestion. Could anyone comment on whether the new Cure Critical/Cure Serious type spells are still affected by Heal domain empowerment?

Cures are. Causes never were. Funky
