Ok, yesterday I encountered a wacky bank bug.
I went into the bank, put stuff into the transfer chest, made sure both chests were closed, then logged out inside the bank room.
Switched characters...went to the same bank room, opened the transfer chest, pulled stuff out, shut the chest, went into town, chatted, traded, saved, walked back to the docks, logged out.
Switched back, opened up my persistant STORAGE chest...and inside I found items in my storage chest that were not mine, and had not been put there by me, and in fact shouldn't've been saved in there anyway.
I found two blue-NWN-story books...a ring, a pair of boots - both +3 and +4 random loot...and an emote wand. Which, being present in the chest, would not allow it to save.
So I took all of it out and have it in my inventory, to tell you about this before I go and toss it in the trashcan.
Another bug I've run into a few times lately is with the Linguist's Lens. Since my storage chest a while ago lost most of my ssithrak story pages, I'd been going around collecting replacements.
However, when I use my linguist's lens...the untranslated ones vanish, but no translated versions appear to take their places. Poof, they're just gone. I think only the Ssithrak Journal has proven immune thusfar, but most of them are just gone.
(Also, the Linguist's Lens specifies in the item description that its only useful for Ssithran, yet works on illithid tomes. Minor description change may be needed if you are so inclined.)

This isn't a bug, it's what happens when someone ignores the not-saved warning - the stuff is left sitting there, and will still be there when the next person comes along and opens it. If no one comes along and picks it up, it's lost on reset. As for the linguist lens, I can only say that what you are describing seems improbable, I'd have to see it myself to believe it. Funky

Ah. I didn't know thats what happens with the bank, as I've never seen it before. Groo told me to post details though, and so I did. As for the linguist lens, its extremely weird - but its happened to me *four* times now. Next time I go to ssithrak, I'll grab some more papers and when I see you on in DM mode, I'll let you watch my inventory while I do it. I'm telling you, its extreeeeemely odd.

I seem to be having a persistant storage issue with one of my characters Eastan Gald. I've taken him to the bank several time lately and discovered random items in the persistant storage chest. Although there were stackables that shouldn't have been in there one time I removed them and it didn't give a warning. None of the items are mine and they seem to vary from login to login. My other chars cannot see this chest so I'm wondering if there is a conflict with another persons character? Need less to say I've not been using the storage chest with him.

Again, that's just random junk left behind by people who ignored 'not saved' messages. I'm taking steps to reduce the incidence of that, and the whole ZOMG THE BANK ATE MY LOOTZ phenomenon, by making charged items and stackable items storagable, in the near future. Other than that, just remove the stuff, and ignore it. Funky

Why does the stuff only seem visible to Eastan Gald though? If I log off then log straight back on with another of my characters and check the chest they can't see it but if I then log back on with Eastan its there again.

It seems to me that there may be some confusion here about the chest itself Chain.... I seem to be having a persistant storage issue with one of my characters Eastan Gald. I've taken him to the bank several time lately and discovered random items in the persistant storage chest..... My other chars cannot see this chest so I'm wondering if there is a conflict with another persons character? The storage chest is unique to each character, so each character has its own bank vault of upto 50 items in effect. Its the transfer chest that uses your account name and this chest should show items within it to each of characters using that same accout name (i think its account name not CD Key iirc). Other peoples items do occasionally appear in the chests, this seems to be caused by people not reading the message that items haven't been saved successfully, in this case you can still, in most cases, use the chest on the other side of bank. Hope this helps, Holla .

OK - Remember the linguist's lens?
FOUR times now I have had 3-5 ssithrak papers on me...I use the linguist lens, and they all vanish - except sometimes one of them stays translated.
This has happened to me every single time I have used it since the Illithid papers came out.
Is it possible that more than one paper on me at a time kills it? Or is it the type? As I had the one in the T-chamber and that worked just fine.
Which makes it kindof frustrating to replace my plot-stories since my bank storage chest was eaten yesterday and I lost everything.

Speaking of bank bugs.... Today when I was in vault to check items some other player stormed in and started emptying my chests. After a while i managed to get hold of the guy though and get my stuff back - But he shouldn't be able to get inside in the first place??

I have noticed that the door does not always shut, or at least not straight away. The only solution I have found is to go into the vault, and shut the door manually before anything alse.
Maybe some kind of "airlock" might help, with an outer and inner door, where the inner door will only open if the outer door has shut, and there is only one person inbetwen? Or a Teleporter insted of a door, that will not port you in if the room is occupied, similar to the Altar of Legends?

The only reason the door doesn't close is lag, causeing the player's entering od a trigger not to register, because updating his position with the server was too low priority compared to other ongoing processes. If you don't want someone to walk in and take your things, don't open your chest if the door is open. That will occasionally require you to close it yourself. Funky

Could opening the chest trigger the door close, rather than a floor trigger?

Yup, I may do that instead - there's alot else going on in that script. Funky
