As much as I love my traps, and would love to PVP the brat that did this...getting fried by about 60 pts of electrical damage, and dying (there were two before this one as well, one spike and another elec that shields covered) on my merry way to the portal (after using the merchant in Encumbria) was not a happy moment....and, of course, I was ready to level. I checked my log and it is listed as a no PVP area...is there any way to catch this one? Approx. 1:30 CST today 06/17/06....one spike trap and one, possible two electrical....I hope it wasn't an abuse of the shout channel but I sent out a warning about this at the time, and asked for a DM. Ah, those evil brats....what to do with them? Thanks!

Definitely not an abuse of the shout channel, and an easy fix. Thanks, Funky

Can the trap script announce the trap-layer when it kills a PC? It seems to be abused more often than used as a real PvP tactic.

Not sure, especially with the custom traps. I need to go over those at some point soon, because I think 1.67 allows a much more efficient way of doing them, so I'll take a look then. In any case, the fix is not as easy as I had hoped - I again used a 3rd party script, and again it didn't work, instead of it simply being an issue of forgetting to set a variable as I had at first thought. Go figure. Funky

Scratch that, I found the bug. Now the trap is automatically disarmed, as was supposed to happen, and the server shouts the name and area of the person. Funky
