Dunno if this site has been mentioned here before but OCremix.org is a site that I found on another forum some time ago and I've gotten considerable enjoyment out of the downloads from that site. (They are great for listening to while working on the computer) While it mostly includes console games there are a few PC games and even some very old school variations. Almost every conceivable genre is represented from Mario music played on the piano with various instrumental backup, to metal, and of course various electronic interpretations. As a subset there is the specific site of Game Over, a band dedicated to to metal versions of old nintendo music . . . you know you love it. Unlike the typical OC remix these have substantial lyrics. A smattering of some of my favorite mixes. ^_^ River of Time-A Zelda 64 taste mostly true to the original theme with some nice atmospherics . . . purty. Samus Strut - a rather moody version of the original metroid theme. Morrowind- Final Stage - of course I had to have a MW remix in there, pretty and nice enough to stuff in my MW music folder and play as replacement in-game music. Energy tank - ostensively from Super Metroid but with more original material than most. Bowser is Pissed-A very different and interesting sort of expansion on the original super mario bros castle music. Curse Curse Revolution- Sounds weird and well it is . . .castlevania combined with dance dance revolution . . . cheesy yet lovable. -S

If you want a complete database of alot of RPG music, check out bluelaguna.net. They even have both the Black Mages albums there, who remix alot of Final Fantasy music into kickass metal/rock. (The group has Nobuo in it, so you know it's done right )
