So my AVG found a virus called "Obfustat.ZXS" infecting a bunch of .DLLs in the System Volume Information folder of my C: drive today. It was cleaned up and there is no real problem as far as I can tell, except I can't find any information on this virus anywhere.
There are vague, unhelpful references to other Obfustat viruses, none of which address the problems.
I do not know how I got this, and am not really concerned at the moment (unless it shows up continually).
Could this be a problem with AVG (bad update?). Could this be a "new threat" or something mostly benign?
Advice appreciated.

Well, unless your computer starts throwing fits, then you should be fine...

Had a quick look at this and it seems AVG is detecting the "Securom" copy protection software of some online multiplayer games as a trojan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecuROMMake your own mind up about this, seems a bit intrusive to me, but if that's the only way to play a good game.... Obfustat seems to be AVG code for "Obfuscated" (meaning deliberately hard to understand) ie AVG thinks the file is dodgy but doesn't know exactly how

Hmmm, I did by the new Harry Potter 5 DVD this weekend.
I have been using AVG for about 3 months and this is the first I have had this .... "problem". Seems harmless though.
Thanks for the help.
