They played this little ditty on this week's Nature podcast and then I found the video on you tube. Might be of interest to the science geeks. -S

Also of interest to me, as I was a policeman in The Pirates of Penzance several years ago! A picture of me in costume can be found in the pictures thread, I believe. The G&S version of that song (I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General) was part of my audition, and I ended up being understudy for Major-General Stanley. During a lull in a rehearsal, our Major-General, David, began to speak the song without notes - in character - and a Pirate named Caleb did beat box.
Oh, and here's a parody my friend Ben wrote during the production's run:
I am the very model of a modern major college geek, I've information video-game, anime, and Tolkien-speak. I know the kings of Gondor, and I quote the fights historical From Pelennor to Moria, in order categorical; I'm very well acquainted, too, with cartoons from the Japanese, I understand weird dialogue, though it's a skill not bought with ease. About procrastination, too, I'm teeming with a lot o' news, With many cheerful facts about the benefits of hitting 'snooze.'
I'm very good at playstation and getting beat at racquetball; I know the cafeteria and which food not to eat at all. In short, in matters video-game, anime, and Tolkien-speak, I am the very model of a modern major college geek.
