Is there any way to give a combat log when a spell wears off? Main reason, is for eg when you have several AC buffs, the only icon you get is an "AC Increased", but no indication of when which one wears out (If I know which one, it makes this easier to replace instead of running thru all my ac buffs again).
Even better would be an extra dialog on the autocaster to inform you how long each buff has been up, but mebbe that's wishful thinkin ;D
No. No way thats even close to efficient. Funky

I don't know about you, but I find it hard enough to see anything in the combat log. Maybe at lower levels, but at higher levels when every fighter in your group has about 1 attack a second - and that's not even counting enemies - it may just be simpler to look at your character page. Possibly another idea would be to have it as floating text like the sneak attack ability - because I agree that what you say is an annoyance.

My solution to this is to cast other spells with easily noticed visuals to them that have the same duration. For example, I always follow ethreal visage with mestil's acid sheath and elemental shield. All three have the same duration. When I see the acid sheath & elemental shield wear off, I know I have to cast all three.
It's not a perfect solution, but it helps a lot, and it's already available to you.

Dannecrot - you can taylor both logs to show what you want (even excluding shouts/etc). Argon - that might work for very finite instances, but not all. When you have important buffs like Eth Visg, one would assume those are extended; while your in-combat shields/etc should be either empowered or normal (saving your real spell slots for combat). Might be a bit off base, maybe it's just me has a bit difficulty keeping track with the current Bioware implementation.

I actually cast all three (ethreal visage, acid sheath, and elemental shield) extended, so they all have the same duration. Only one spell level higher, not a huge loss.
As I said, it's not perfect, but it's better than not having a clue with ethreal visage wears off. Correct, it doesn't work for all instances, but I've got MOST covered. :-)

@irongolem - I guess this topic is closed then, but I just wanted to say that I know about the log options about excluding and including, but you can't have only your spells (or messages from them) in a log and not everyones attacks can you? (that's why in my example I brought the attacks and not the shouts)

@funky - alrighty then, just askin ;D Dannecrot - there's no "spell" channel far as I know, but almost any other channel could be used. I guess, in a way, I thought of this being more important than a DC readout (as suggested in another thread); since DC can be worked out fairly easily, if you understand the spell and how it works.

Personally, I just cast everything that isn't an 'hours per level' duration extended.
Chances are, I'll have to rest long before 80 turns come around.
As to things that are in rounds, Acid Sheath and Elemental Shield are great visual reminders...and the only thing I can think of that is in rounds, and is invisible, is Tenser's.
