I've just hit 20 RDD lvls with my RDD today (character lvl is 30), and I have a question. According to the RDD book, the character automatically gains extra bonuses, besides the attribute bonuses, such as SR, TS, immunity to sneak attack, etc. automatically at lvl 20 if it has epic toughness 5. Well, I have epic toughness 6, but I still didn't get any of the extra bonuses. After I relogged I received the attribute bonuses as usual, but not the extra ones.
Did I simply misread and I'm actually supposed to find an item to grant me these extra bonuses, or is it a different issue? The people with whom I've discussed this online say that I'm supposed to get these bonuses automatically, but since I haven't I thought I'd write a post about it...
Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. my subrace is a minotaur, if it matters. (I seem to recall a post that I've seen a while ago that discusses RDD changes if one uses minotaur as their subclass, but I can't find it anywhere..)

Ok this is weird.... After I didn't get these extra bonuses I alt tabbed from the game to write this post. When I switched to NWN again the bonuses were there.....  No, I didn't hallucinate the whole thing, lol. And I relogged twice before concluding that i had a problem. Looks like one second I didn't have the bonuses, and 5 minutes later there they were. Anyway, looks like the problem's solved.... |

It´s quite strange. I have a friend who has the same problem. Sometimes he has the bonuses, sometimes he doesn´t, even he has 30 levels of RDD already and is common human. He tried to switch servers/die and rez but it doesn´t work. Only relog sometimes works I think.

Dying will set the bonuses, as will logging into a fresh server, once you have attained the needed level and feats. There was a bug that was causing the bonuses not to be applied if you didn't have a subrace, but that was resolved awhile back. My guess is you 'relogged' into a different server, and thats when the bonuses appearaed.

No I relogged to the same server twice and didn't get the bonuses. And then when I alt tabbed to write this post and then alt tabbed back into NWN the bonuses appeared. In other words they appeared without me relogging, at a simingly random time. My only guess is that, as Scout pointed out online, the server was quite laggy at the time, so that may have contributed to the length of time that it took for the bonsues to appear.

Relogging to the same server will not affect your bonuses. Nor will alt-tabbing, obviously, as that is entirely client-side. It sounds like you are judging the effects based on icons on the top of the screen, and those can be unreliable. I know for a fact that they will occasionally disappear under some circumstances, as when they are filling up the screen sometimes, so there's a good chance you have them but they arent displaying for whatever your reason until your display refreshes. Please verify using your combat log, and let me know, should they disappear again.

I DID test to see if I had my bonuses after I relogged... twice. I had a mage in my party leave the party and cast an offensive spell on me, and my SR was still at 10 (10 SR from a ring). Admittedly I don't know if the other bonuses (sneak immunity and TS) were there or not at that point, but their icons didn't appear yet either on screen or in my character sheet (I know that doesn't mean that they were definitely not there, but I'm just saying...). Five minutes later after I finished writing the post and alt tabbed back into NWN and saw that the bonuses were there (the icons on screen and the corresponding details in my char sheet), I tested my SR again and it was indeed where it was supposed to be: at 40. So, to reiterate: I hit lvl 20 RDD -> relogged to the same server: no bonuses -> relogged to the same server: no bonuses -> alt tabbed and wrote the initial post -> alt tabbed back to NWN: bonuses were there. So sometime in the 5 minutes that it took me to write the initial post (while I "wasn't looking"), the bonuses appeared. (The first time I relogged was for the attribute bonuses, and the second time was when I saw that the extra bonsues weren't there.) Anyway, the problem is now solved (although how, I don't know), my SR keeps rising now as I raise in levels, and the icons are always present (so far) so everything's ok  |
