I have heard it mentioned quite a few times that weapons were meant to improve as you go lower into the hells.
Well I traded a very wanted Dis item for a lvl 5 monk glove. To my surprise I have found out these are actually weaker than the Dis drop.
Talking to several players, the consensus (apart from 1 who disagrees) was it is more of a pain to get the Nameless Fiend gloves to the Dis drop.
With that in mind please could it be changed so these gloves are at the very least equal to Dis. Was hoping to see the Fist of the North Star suggested glove being implemented *cough* ok that was the glove I posted ;D
So please any chance of this happening or am I going to have to suck it up that I traded a nice Dis weapon for a weaker monk glove?
Cheers Lala

Sorry but not going to name people. So looks like I have to break the news to the poor chap who has my rapier then the deal is off.
Well at least everyone now should be aware not to assume weapons are better lower down.

Not seen any weapons drop in the lower levels that I would consider better than the Dispater ones so far. Mind you for my monk I'd still consider grabbing them as the flexibility/damage types may be better than the basic damage output and if you're not intending using the Dis rapier then its not really a big deal.

Not sure that me using or not using rapier comes into it, I have put a build on hold that used rapiers to get gloves.
Still not sure a Dis rapier/handaxe/kama/etc are worth a lvl 5 weapon. Maybe its only the lvl 5 monk gloves that lose out compared to the various other wpns.
Someone told me other lvl 5 weapons are +16 compared to the +11 of Dis. If that is correct then the lvl5 monk gloves lose out big time in comparison as they dont gain anything over Dis but in fact lose - That if it is true what I was told about Dis monk being +16 as well.

Well I don't know who told you weapons improve either though I know the loot overall improves as you go down. As for the set drop hells weapons they are all +15 with fewer damage types than dis weapons and only some of the less popular weapons are included in this group rather than all weapons as is the potential in Dispater. A +15 weapon is a very unusual property and valuable for reasons I won't go into here.
As for the monk gloves both the set version, which you have and the dispater gloves are both +16. You *might* possibly be able to argue for the attack bonus being upped slightly on the set version but personally I'd be happy to have either set of gloves for my unarmed monk since they are both the only monk gloves with damage immunities on them and the damage types on both are somewhat different. An increase in attack bonus probably won't make that much difference at that level anyway. I doubt I would have traded a dis rapier for either of them since I have considerably more rapier users than unarmed monks but, I'd certainly hang onto either set of gloves if I had my hands on them.

Muhaha, I've got some Dis gloves and I wouldn't trade them for any other Dis weapons the damage output with them on is very impressive (vs Dusty gloves) and the +16 ab is also helpful for a weapon that can't be buffed. I take it there is no possibility of keening gloves (even through an item property?) due to limitations in the NWN engine?
