Got to say I love the look of the Bard epics. However I am just wondering if they are just a bit too strong in duration when comparing them to other class epics. As they stand every man, woman, dog, cat, mouse will want to become a Bard ;D Just seems to make sense to maybe tweak the duration now before everyone jumps on building bards now. But over all they are great looking spells and cannot wait to do my own Bard, bah many bard builds lala

Which? Bear in mind that these spells have higher reqs than other class spells, and that epic focuses are less useful to bards, who have 1/3 less spells to apply them to, if nothing else. Funky

i think the only issue i'd have with the duration is they appear designed for the hells where duration needs to be longer for nastier areas and longer fights.
for most runs they'll appear to be like current arcane and divine epics: nice to have but hardly necessary

i agree with the duration problem. Beeing a bard with 58-60 levels gives you already one of the most powerful long-duration party buff (bard song). The three new are neat and the KD one will surely be on the most wanted buff list. I think a shorter duration for the Transmutation epic (less than 10 rounds, 1 round per 10 bard level for example) will make it still extemely useful and will require its caster (and the party) to think when and where use it. I just wish that caster bards wont be a mule carried over for its buffs. Beeing yelled "Song pls" is ok (i'm lying a bit on this statement ), now i dont want to be yelled "Song Pls", "UUU pls", "Dirge pls" , "Possum pls" .... and not being able to do anything else beside that. Did i hear Druid clone with the damage spells less ? My 2 cents. Atomic.

how is shortening the duration going to help this? if anything it will alleviate the situation. instead of constantly having to rest for epics *ahem wall and shunt* a bard will be able to say: listen if you want new epics then YOU rest and be ready, i need to save my rests or whatever.

The Bard can select epic spell focus during legendarly leves, but the new bard epics states:
"his book lists the custom Epic Bard Spells in this module. You must have 25 levels of bard in order to learn these spells, be level 40, have a base charisma of 30, and have the epic spell focus feat in the spell's school, and find someone or something to teach you the spell."
So you have to be exactly lvl 40 to get these ?, or can you get the epics anytime after lvl 40. I hope so, or the bard will only be able to get one epic, and thats the one from the book.

It makes more sense for that to mean "at least level 40" because "exactly level 40" would lock out current over level 40 but otherwise eligible bards from obtaining the epic spells.

Yes, those list minimum requirements. You don't need exactly 30 CHA either. Funky
