I was reading the reincarnation thread and a though came to mind.
Newer players have a much harder time building good characters than veterans, and often find out when they get to LL that their build just won't work. The build is obsolete, not due to server changes, but due to new players having to learn the vast amount of changes the server has to offer. Once you reach LL you can no longer voluntarily de-level to try and fix mistakes, plus if it’s your first character here, you sure feel bad losing all your hard earned experience (and it much harder earned for a new player than a veteran with good gear, unlimited money and powerful friends).
So after this rebuild period is over you will already have the mechanism in to do the task. You could add something, like a token system, which gives you one rebuild per character. It does not have to be as generous as this one. I would not expect to get to change your subrace, but it could be useful for other reason.
For example, I made my first blackguard the other day, and only put 12 into wisdom. It was only after getting my spells at lvl 10 that I realized I should have out 14 into wisdom to get acces to all blackguard spells. I had spent two days getting it up to ten because all the groups I could find were all pure newb groups. We didn’t have any uber pets or super knowledgeable players to help us along. And I made that mistake after being here two months. My Pariah, my first character over 10 on HG, has been in limbo since he was lvl 36 because I messed it all up.
I simply believe that it would be a very nice feature to have one free rebuild per character.
