Don't know if anyone else is having troubles, but I cannot log on to Servers 4 or 5. Thier ping is showing as -1, and I get a time-out error when trying to join. Other people seem to be logged on there, and i did managet o get on to 5 for a moment, but was laggy as heck, and then timed out. I am on a LAN, but no other NWN machines, the other servers seem fine. I have rebooted my PC. Anything I can do to improve things, or is it at your end? Or inbetween?

Bad pings happen from time to time, as various links in the internet go down and come up again. You can even get ping -1 on the history page and flip over to favorites and see a normal ping, sometimes. Not worth fretting about, because there generally isn't anything you can do about it. Funky

Problems have returned. 8o( I am gettign ping -1 frequently, and in-game is lagging really horrid. Plays OK for maybe a minute, then i get a 10-20 second delay, where i can't seem to interact ... then everything will catch up again ...
Any suggestions? I am on a LAN, but with no other NWN running, I am in Europe (UK), running WinXP on a P4 3GHz, 512 DDR, 100Mb LAN.

If you didn't change anything, and one day the performance tanks, and then next day its fine, chances are its not your equipment.

For starters, run a tracert and look for abnormally high pings (200ms+). This has happened to me and few of my friends here in BC and the culprit was the ISP. From what I understand, the path that your connection takes to get to HG is not set in stone and changes from time to time based on how your ISP routes (I'm sure its more complicated than that). I had found a bottleneck running a tracert where the ping was ~300ms. After verifying that it was consistently the same hop, I notified my ISP, they changed the path and all was good.
Hope that helps, SS
