Phalthallus, I'm gonna think hard and do some test builds for my DL character. Goldmoon, or Tanis is a possibility for me.. i havent ever made a Ranger, and EVERY party needs a good cleric. Lookin forward to LOTS of stuff to come... CEP 2.0 !!! (new cloaks, HORSES, new shields, and much more...) OUR GUILD [EO]!!!!! HC and non HC guild parties!!!!!!!

I can vouch for rughnarsiegehammer - my wife and I have played with him for quite some time, and actually we all got our first immo toons together (his Vale Tuko toon, my Gilgallad Staffmaster, and wife's Fade Steel) last night. Sometimes he gets a little too excited and charges ahead, but when you talk him down, he'll back off again.

Having fun with Badaxe [EO] so far...just to keep things current, he will be a 30ftr/10wm, battle-axe and throwing axes He'll have tons of hp's, and I believe he'll be a helluva tank (nearly 1k hp's AND epic dodge!)

I spoke with Phalthallus last night about Rugnar before they went on their immo run. I am glad he is so excited about the guild already. And it is fine that he made a toon already too. I will get the fee from him asap. Same with flynn01.
As far as the DL group goes. I already have a non-HC Vinas Solamnus toon (lvl 5 currently). I can make one of the companions if that is what we need. I want to make Steel Brightblade really bad tho... Maybe we could just do a DL themed party instead of trying to recreate the Companians from the War of the Lance??? That way we have more options for characters...
Then possibly if there are not as many DL fans as LOTR fans we could do a LOTR themed party aswell. I wouldn't mind that, I LOVE lotr almost as much as DL lol. My brother and I even went all the way to New Zealand and visited 90% of the LOTR film locations, (that was OUTSTANDING!! Trip of a lifetime.) If you ever get the chance to go to New Zealand, DO IT !!!
Any way, I can't wait for CEP 2.0.

Well I just had to make another (minor) adjustment to my Paladin build. So i am going to remake Vinas Solamnus. I guess I can go with Sturm Brightblade to keep with the Companians theme. But if others wish to make any other DL toons that arent in the companians, go right ahead.
I am going to delete my HC version of Sturm and have my only HC toon be Mishkal the Healing Hand (Cleric Caster).
I would like to know what everyone is planning on making for the HC adventures. We will definately need a balanced group for that.

I think you're right Dragonlance, about just making it themed. As I was thinking of characters to create, Palin Majere kept popping into my head. As for LOTR, I'm with you, and love that series as well. Maybe we just leave it up to people to create whatever kinds of characters they want, and as people group together, we can think how cool it is to group Gandalf with Raistlin, or Strider with Tanis. I think that maybe my first HC toon will be a dwarven defender. That should be best, with loads of ac and hp's hopefully. Haven't put a lot of thought into him yet, but thinking it will be DwD/Ftr/WM, of some sort. So look for a Fireforge or Gimli or Gloin coming to a server near you.

Sounds good. Yep, gamespy is jctrapster as well, will add you guys when I get a chance (soon). I think it would be better if we kept LOTR out of it a bit for now-just as there are already "gandalf uber-wizard" type named characters on HG, and I like to think that we're above that. Badaxe, just one word of advice, take it or leave it: There is absolutely no reason to take more than 7 weapon master with that build-you don't gain anything extra (aside from the first 7, of course) from the wm levels unless you take at least 13, when you're attack starts increasing. Why not try something like 30 fighter/7 weapon master/3 rogue instead? Then you can have evasion, a 2d6 sneak attack, rogue skills (including tumble) which will work well with the weapon master's prerequisite intelligence. Improves you defensively and offensively, at the cost of only 12 hit points. Just make sure to take your last rogue level anywhere from level 37-40 so you can out 40 points into tumble. Sorry to bother, just hate >:(seeing wasted levels.

Thanks for your help with the builds jctrapster. Those of us who know are obligated to help those who ask for help right? Thats how I belive anyway. And I totaly agree with his advise for a fighter WM build. I have one exactly like that actually Hope to see you online soon jctrapster. I made my Bane Knight last night. Finaly worked out the kinks in my Bane Knight build that I have been testing for some time now. [EO] Lord Ariakan Knight of the Black Lily (Founder of the Knights of Takhisis) Oh and Trix, if you dont have the kender subby then make Tas with any other halfling sub. Unless you are going for a complete RP of him. Up to you mate. -DragonLance_007

Will do, what do reckon for Tas, Halfling death? I dont have any Halfling secret subbys that would keep his appearance ( only have Wraith that i could mix but then he'd look like a wraith!) i will have to go with one of the standard Halfling subbys. Any suggestions?
Ive only read one book of the DL series, And that was years ago. Think it might have been Something like pools of radiance but cannot remember.

Halfling Death would be great, but not true to Tas' character. So that depends on you. Tas would use a sling, daggers, and throwing daggers. He'd have a high enough pickpocket to use that, as well as disarm trap (despite the situation with the trap and the pinprick - some of you will remember that and open lock. Probably a dex character, as he was always finding ways to get out of situations. I'm not sure what build would be best, other than taking some Rogue. Maybe some kind of Rogue/Shadowdancer? It really just depends on how true to the story you want to be, vs being successful on HG. I ran into the same issue wanting to make Tanis Half-Elven. Rangers are great, but to succeed on HG, they really need to be tweaked just right. To focus on longbow and longsword (or some other sword) might be tough, unless you take a number of fighter levels. So I think we may have a challenge of "HG Success" vs "RP purity".... I saw Ariakan on last night Dragonlance - would have jumped on, but it was midnight, and we were just logging off for the night. Too many late nights in a row since we started playing HG.

As true to story as i can get really, your suggestions so far are what im after, cos like i said i dont really remember the story much or Tas, except i remember him being a cheecky little theif and absolutely fearless. I checked him out on WIki too but any other info would be usefull.
so if im correct i need: Kender. Dexer. He uses a knife of some kind (dagger/ kukri / short sword), throwing daggers and a sling as weapons. i doubt he uses a sheild (although i may need to to survive HG) but not a dual weilder. Needs good, PP, OL, DT. Evasion, uncanny dodge.
So im thinking since i dont have kender: Badlander, Dexer, Rogue with splash for 2 lvls pally for aura of courage. then go SD for as much as possible b4 taking a rogue level to Max PP, OL, DT at 40. Specialising in sling while using a sheild.
What do you think so far? ill get right on it. trix

I actually knew this and kinda forgot You get a grueling XP penalty throughout LL's if you take rogue, and I wasn't sure it was worth it for 4 points of AC and evasion. Maybe you're right...but it's a tough choice. I suppose either way, 3 extra fighter levels would be better than 3 wm since I'd get another feat.

Hey all. One of my real life friends wants to come play on HG, so if it's ok with you I'd like to bring him in to the guild as well -- I'll cover his join fee. He's getting his NWN setup right now, but let me know if you have any concerns around this.
He hosts a TeamSpeak server that we chat on while playing games, so if anyone would like to join us on that while playing, let me know and I'll give you the ip details.
