I've been wanting to play around with wizards lately but I find their saves to be atrocious. I can't count the number of times my wizards have been living sanded, imploded, and petrified in the desert. They just don't have the durability I expect from a build. So I've been thinking - I don't really need the epic candy arcane casters get, I don't use them as it is with my sorc and do fine. What if I used those feats instead to improve the saves and boost the durability of a wizard to something more akin to my sorc.
Here's what I'm thinking:
1. First, use dragonblooded. Why? +2 to con, +2 to int, +2 to charisma. I could pull off 16 con, 16 chr, 20 int with that race, assuming I ever get it (which if I actually decide to make this build would be fairly easy for me to aquire).
2. Go 38 Wiz, 1 pally, 1 monk - same as my sorc - won't get that big of a charisma bonus but +9(?) is not too bad I think.
3. Go epic evo (with the book), epic necro, toughness, improved combat casting, silent, maxed, empowered, epic spell pen, gret int 1-10, and use the rest to boost saves, improve constitution, etc.
What do you guys think? Any ideas of what else I could do to make the thing tougher?
