In regards to saves, is 58 sufficient for DC 60 checks or would a 60 vs. 60 be unsucessful?

a save of 58 vs a dc of 60 would mean that you would only fail on 1. if your dc was 60 vs a 60 dc you would still fail on 1

I'm working on COT builds & struggling with the whole saves thing 0.o
First is the concept that 60 in all saves is enough. Is that because nothing on the server has or will ever have over a 60 DC?
Second is the multiple comments I've heard regarding "COT saves are figured into the 20 cap". I don't understand that. To me, the class saves are the base, then you add to the base using external things like spells, items, songs, etc. So the COT saves appear to me to be in the base saves, and unable to be part of the 20 cap? Help me, I don't get it ... =<
If, in fact, COT saves are somehow special enough to go into the cap, what about the Pally charisma boost to saves? That seems a bit more "outside" to the saves progression, so it seems it would fit into the 20 cap? I haven't found a real coherent posting on all of these aspects of saves, especially comparing "base" saves as opposed to "added" (and capped at 20) saves ....

There are things that have saves above 60 even now, like the pharoah's pulse attack which has a save of 90(?) iirc. As for what you want to aim for, you need to look at the saves and how attainable they are. Implosion has a fortitude save of 51, dragon breath has a reflex save of 60, etc. The big thing is the reflex saves of 60. The Divine Grace(Pally) and Dark Blessing(Blackguard) feats which allow their classes to add their charisma modifiers to saves are not included in the +20 cap. Sacred Defense (CoT) which gives you a +1 to saves for every 2 levels of CoT is included in the +20 cap.

Seems a bit weird since the Wiki lists both as "Class Feats", but I guess it's a balance issue to treat them differently.
Quite invalidiates taking COT to high levels/control class for better saves, since so much gear already adds to saves, and the CoT would max out at lvl 40. Also makes Divine Wrath partially redundant for a CoT, since it adds to saves well - in fact at lvl 22 CoT using Divine Wrath you'd have hit the 20 cap ...

That'd be a lot of DVDs. And chucked DVD frisbees would go quite far (assuming DVDs are similar to AOL frisbees), so I could trust the wiki for at least... oh... 20 meters? Good thing I never get outta my chair...

I realised for the cost of 1 AB on my Rdd build I could take Epic Will and Fort, giving the build 73 Fort, 68 Reflex, 69 Will.
(so without those feats it's F:69, R:68, W:65)
With the saves feats, AB at 60 is 60 (80 with gmw & bard song/cleric buffs).
As the hells are nearing completetion, and assuming I will at some point feel brave enough to venture into their fiery depths, should I pump those saves that little bit more? Not sure I can resist the temptation!
