I've been looking at the Dwarven Defender for a while and I wanted to ask some quick questions about them. If anyone could give me a little bit of insight that would be great. First off can a STR based DD dual wield safely and effectively? Secondly Can a DD use a Dual-Weapon or are they too big?

Yes a str based DD should be able to dual-wield pretty safely and effectively provided you have good gear and great buffs. Steer clear of scripted attacks that might stone or drown you and seek out great party buff epics from druids and clerics and you should do ok. DD can use double weps. Prez Blackburn has a toon named Exodus that uses double-axe and does quite nicely everywhere I have seen him play thus far. This advice does not apply to hells whatsoever as I have no experience with that area so plan accordingly if thinking of building a dual-wielding str based dd for hells. - Miles

My newest toon is a DD, following Claus 'tin can' build: highergroundpoa.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=builds&action=display&n=1&thread=1159869787The main advantage is the innate 100% fire immunity, and with a pentavite shield you have 100% elec too. With decent equipment physical immunity is > 70% as well (bevause DDs get 1% physical per str point when achieving LL). HP wise you will end up around 1400 at lvl 60, which is good. Its quite easy to manage the 3 other elementals with equipment, making it a solid pyramid build, and hopefully, also hells. The damage output isnt the greatest, but the staying power is very good.
