I don't seem to see too much in the way of short swords or daggers in peoples' trade lists, are these highly sought after, or just rare?
working on a new wm build, and debating dagger over kukri partially to save a feat and partially after seeing a lot of DB weapons covering 2 exotic damages, dagger 3, yet kukri only 1 (with piercing of all things as a damage).
Thoughts on weapon choices? (from the popularity of rapiers I take it getting GMW isn't a problem at 40+ on a piercer)

Kukris are quite popular, especially amongst small races and dual-wielders. Rapiers are also popular. Good crit-range. GMW is never a problem. Keen is sometimes not available fro non-slash weapons, but some weapons already have it on. Personally I'd go dagger, to save feat and ease of finding, although I think kukri is slightly better.

Kukri is nice up to the level 35 weapon, but the dustybone kukri almost seems like a downgrade from there, not a much needed upgrade (mainly considering the immunities/resistances mobs have at that level and the types of damage on the weapon).
Dis is still a long ways off, if even possible for me considering my sporadic playing schedule. With the impropability of getting even a single dis run in, much less getting a kukri, I'm seriously debating my choice of weapons. (provided the dis kukri is decent, and not another downgrade).
Rapier isn't an option for a halfling.

You should consider handaxes.

something you want to consider is how you apply your damage in combat.
i chose kuks for my assassin to extend my critical range (on a halfling so no raps)
if you're planning on weapon master levels, handaxes are good because you get a decent crit range and a strong crit. if you're going with slightly less bite but better dmg with each hit, daggers are great. 19-20 crit range and good dmg types mean once you get some db ones you won't be desperately searching for those dis ones.

Now if you're dual wielding, you don't want to use handaxes as a halfling. You still take I think a -4/-4 penalty because halfling = small and handaxe = small. To get minimum two-weapon penalties of -2/-2 you need a weapon that is smaller than the character. AFAIK, daggers and kukris are the ONLY tiny melee weapons.
