Hand Of Blood (20AS/10F/10Ro)
Alrighty, now the idea of this build is to make a character that can use 2 big swords at once and hit for high amounts of damage, this isn't so much for practicability as it is for the coolness factor. The original idea was to have a fighter/weapon master but having to put intelligence to 15 to get feats for WM is a pain so I ditched that idea. Instead I've decided for a fighter/assassin character, with some levels of rogue to get hide/move silently/open lock/trap skills up. So far its mostly theory so i'm unsure as to how much of this will really work.
Taking some levels of fighter gives access to a number of feats that this character will very much need, weapon specialization included. Assassin and rogue levels give me heaps of extra sneak damage too, however if i have to face anything with sneak immune I'm pretty much hosed.
Subrace: Pt - Water Genasi: 2+ Dex, 2+ Con, 2- Wis, 2-Cha, immune cold, 25% vulnerable electric.
Starting Stats (After racial bonuses)
Str: 17 (17) <- Put all points into Strength
Dex: 16 (18)
Con: 12 (14)
Int: 11 (11)
Wis: 8 (6)
Cha: 8 (6)
Level Advancement:
Start as a fighter. Levels 1-20, alternate between fighter and rogue, so that at 20 there are 10 levels of fighter/rogue each and so that skill points are spread out across Discipline, open lock, disable trap, move silently and hide. After 20 take all levels of Assassin.
Feats:
1: Ambidexterity, Two weapon fighting, exotic weapon proficiency
2-20: Blindfight, Cleave, Weapon focus (bastard sword), improved critical, mobility, lightining reflexes, improved two weapon fighting, weapon specialisation, power attack, dodge.
20-40: Armour skin, epic weapon focus, overwelming critical, epic prowess, great cleave, great strength, improved sneak attack III,
Skills: Put points into discipline, open lock, disable trap, move silently and hide evenly, should end up with about 30 in each.
Gear:
Armour: Unsure what I should go with here, using leather armour will give no armour check penalty but I'm not sure if that's to much of a worry. Might go for something like a chain shirt instead? Bit more protection without killing my hide and move silently skills.
Weapons: Two bastard swords. Although taking a medium weapon in the offhand is going to incur a penalty or two, i don't mind to much. It'll save me having to take focus/improved crit etc for another weapon. And having two bastard swords is badass.
Input would be greately appreciated as this is my first detailed build and I'm strongly considering playing it soon. I do have a few questions that I need to ask (I'm bit of a rookie).
- Do I need dex to be that high?
- Is having a strength based two weapon fighter even a good idea?
- With such low hit dice will I be too frail and need more feats to improve saves?
- What armour class should I be taking?
- Is that the best combination of classes, and the amount of each?
Anyway thanks in advance. Again, any advice is very highly appreciated!
