I realize I do not strictly meet all the requirements for posting this build, but people are starting to take notice and I want to make sure I retain credit for this new (to HG) build and perhaps having added something to the currently empty CoT section of the Build Index. My character is named Del'gokk Gredak'nachxu, currently level 40 (Immortal) using 2 rather nice kamas (Arias and Kama of Ihsahn - MoaD drop) but without any otherwise spectalar items.

I have made similar builds on other servers with good success and decided after learning a thing or two about the lay of the land on HG that this would be my second build (first being a cookie-cutter handaxe dex-WM).

Being a newbie without sexy subraces, I chose Gnoll, but looking through the subrace list, I suspect Hound Archon would be the best possible subrace for this build.

In Legendary Levels, add Great Dex I, Self Conceal I-V and Great Dex II.
Notes
* This build has lousy Charisma so does not benefit from Divine Wrath. This would be very different with Hound Archon, but a newbie like me prolly has no chance to get such a subrace inside of the next 6 months.
* Saves are HUGE. At level 40 with no Immortal gear, they are 57/70/54 with Improved Evasion. ;D
* With Flurry of Blows and Haste, there are 10 attacks per round. This is not new, since there are no doubt many dual-kama builds on HG, but it is fun to play.
* This build could easily be adapted to use double weapons in order to benefit from the extra 2 attacks, but it has been ages since I last made a dual-kama cheeze build
* There are enough skill points for 43 Concentration, 43 Discipline, 30 Hide (Self Conceal 5 in Legendary Levels), 40 Tumble, 4 Intimidate and 34 left over for Lore or whatever you happen to like.
* I spent the first 16 levels fighting with fists, cuz the AB is a tad weak (17 BAB from so many monk levels) and started using Kamas at lvl 16.

Comments and suggestions welcome. I am having fun with this build and hope that others might find it interesting/useful.

Might be worth a mention that 11 of your save points are from the COT's Sacred Defense, and they are included in the +20 cap on enhanced saves. The reason this is important is that the character sheet lies about your saves ;< If you have 30 in each save and 22 levels of COT without any items your saves will correctly display at 41 each. The "gotcha" occurs if you then equip items totaling another +20 in total saves. The character sheet will then show each save at 61, when in actuality (based on the combat log) your saves are really 50 each 0.o

I still love using COT, however, because, in this example, I'd only have to equip items which total +9 to universal saves to max out my saves.

taht being the case, and it seems to me getting +20 to saves thru equipment is so easy you usually do it without knowing it, then doesn't that make a CoT irrelevant as far as saves go? I know you said you like it but I find with the armor, amulet and rings I usually wear I am +20 all the time without even trying

Actually I should amend my comments to indicate that my preference for CoT's comes from earlier days, when I only had non-UR and non-Rare equipment, and where what I did have didn't give me a +20 to saves in addition to the rest of the goodies it did come with ...

I didn't know about that "flaw" in the CoT saves. Still, it's a nice prestige class for newbies.

I have been thinking today that maybe Rakshasa might be a good step up for this build, but with more Dex and less Str and Epic Dodge (SD5) instead of WM7. This would also get me 25 or 26 pre-Legendary CoT levels for the new changes announced yesterday.

I am told that I would need <name removed> and <name removed> and have been given a few tips where to find the latter. How willing are people to sell these items? I only have money to offer in trade, and quite probably not enough considering the rarity of the <name removed>.

Suggestions, offers of help etc would be great.

EDIT to remove names of items required for subrace. Sorry if I posted secrets publicly. Being a newb I plead innocent ignorance. Won't happen again.

more questions when u have 25 lvls of CoT u get many abilities. Do I have to take those 25 lvls before LLs?

To be specific, "Legenday Levels are a mechanism by which your character continues to increase in power after level 40. They are NOT normal levels, and they only affect some of your character's attributes. They do not, for instance, affect attack bonus. The ONLY affects that they have are listed below."

Also note: "You'll notice that several of these attributes are dependant on the character's 'class'. Legendary levels are not considered to be standard levels in a standard class. You cannot, for instance, use them to fulfill level requirements for feats, spells, abilities, and so on; those must all be met by level 40. Legendary levels are, however, influenced by the character's 'Control Class'. It is the Control Class that determines how many hit points and skill points the character receives for Legendary Levels, the availability of feats and skills, and whether legendary levels count towards casterlevel of a given spell."

I have retired this toon in favour of my Aura of Victory build *movie-phone guy voice* coming soon to a forums post near you The recent changes to CoT abilities make 25+ pre-Legendary CoT levels too good to ignore, and the above build does not benefit from those abilities

theres something strange in this build stats. why u take str 15 when u make a dex build??? and cha 6?!! can u even sue CoT abilities with cha like that? And if u have time could u [test] this build with Pixie? I got the race yesterday and Im looking for good Pixie build....

8 monk/7 WM/ 25 CoT is something I wanna see (pixies RULEZ!)

Ps.just tried [TEST] with this and it didnt work.. My BaB was too low so I couldnt take CoT or WM lvls after 8 monk lvls...

I stated in the original post that the build could not use the CoT Divine Wrath feat. Fact is, there are no "free" subraces that suit this build very well, so compromises are required. (People make Pixie Staffmasters who cannot use a QStaff, why can't I make a CoT without Divine Wrath?)

I have remade a variation on the build with Rakshasa (secret subrace) which has 14 Charisma, and will therefore be able to use Divine Wrath. Most people laugh when they hear that I have made a Rakshasa that is not Sorc38-Pal1-Monk1, but I like to be original from time to time. I hope to be posting the build in 1-2 weeks, after it hits lvl 40.
