I assume it is so small so it can overlay. How about a large version for people with dual monitors? (If it is easy to change)
Thx

Hehe yeah Turners are funny when ya got an Assassin and Bard in Party and Assassin has death counter too, did a Dis run with two assassins who kept complaining they were steling each others kills and then moaning at me that I was destroying things before they could mortal strike them lol.
The death counter makes does add a certain competitiveness in a fun way.

As long as people don't start feeling superior over it. Many classes like Bards make those kills possible.

Bort: I will try and think of something, this is just one of those things that make me believe they didn't take easy parsing into account when they were developing the log system.
mrbadexample: Well, Cata found his solution to work. As I said, some things are not intended to work the way they do, overlaying an opengl/directX application with a window isn't really intended behavior (I would actually consider it more of a bug). I have absolutely no clue why that happens and what I can do about it. Do you have an ATI card perhaps?
Trazik: Your 30k+ sshot got me convinced, I will do color codings.
Ironfang: same thing as the "statistics generator" before, I see bort's parser is exactly what you want and I don't like doing redundant/duplicate code. I'm not saying it won't be done ever, but my time is limited and I currently have higher priorities as you've already read.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NOTE: I did NOT make this so people could start boasting how they're better than the rest. I think most of you read my post about elitism. I don't wanna hear my code encouraged people to segregate. It's for fun only, as is the whole server I think.

I'm sure everyone realizes that - when I demied my druid in Nessus, I ended up doing a total of 0 points of damage and 0 kills after the logs were tallied, but I think my party realized I helped a bit. Acaos

Syn, everyone with 0.5 mm of brain knows that different classes do different amounts of damage. For that matter those with greater than 1 mm of brain know that luck, buffs and play style also greatly affect the numbers of kills each character makes. For example do you tank the PF or clean up the lesser devils? One gets you 1 kill, the other gets you maybe 3. If your the only STR tank available you gotta tank the PF - if there are 3 others you might do better to remove the rest of the critters. Playing games with other team members about how often you die / how many you kill is just a bit of fun (or should be).
The fact that some doofus manages to try and make claims about how uber his char is (and you know one or more will) does not stop the intelligent majority enjoying your applet (and the rest of the game). Those who want to be elitist about something will be - the rest will ignore them and move on.

Completely understandable Syn, we all really appreciate yours and and Bort's efforts. Perhaps you guys could collaborate so that some of the features like Fugue timer, SR and TR checks, .Reset etc could be incorporated into the larger version. I am sure credit would be given and the community would benefit. Both versions serve a purpose. I think the majority of people need an overlay version but those of us with Multi-Mon setups benefit from the added real estate.
Thanks Again 'Fang

I agree with the anti-elitism sentiment. I like the death and kill counters as a friendly competition tool, nothing more. I look forward to the addition of colours BTW, I do not think I have figured out this .reset feature. Any clarification would be great. Trazik

Thanks Again 'Fang Fugue timer, Spell Resist and Turn Resist checks (among other things) are already planned for the parser I'm working on. I plan to add as much useful information to my parser as I can, based on my own ideas, input from players and any inspiration I get from this parser (mine's already largely inspired by hedge's log parser and I haven't even got it to that standard yet). It's just an issue of free time at the moment - which I should have a lot more of in roughly a weeks time, yay! (Advice from Syn is welcome, and I'll happily share ideas/methods if there's any way I can help) Syn - Yeah, the logs can be a bit of challenge I agree about duplication. Although I had planned to create a 'mini' version of my parser to overlay nwn, now that you've posted your parser, that's less of a priority for me, which means I can focus more on the functionality of my parser instead. I'm just glad that (finally) there are live parsers available for windows users. Cheers, -Bort

To reset, just do: /w .resetAcaos What does that do, reset the counters (kills, total for each damage type etc)? Cheers, -Bort

Basically there are two commands /w .reset damage resets the damage counters to zero and /w .reset stats clears the upper half of the log watcher and resets death counter to zero. P.S. My appologies if my post about kills was misconstrued. What I didn't mention was yeah as turner I got the most kills but damage wise I did very little, if any, I was also completely innefective against the boss (Can't turn bosses) so without my party I wouldn't have stood a chance, whilst I 'may' have been able to turn some stuff without a bard it 'was' the bard who allowed me to get the kills, no curse meant I wouldn't have destroyed squat, at the same time as a cleric build I used heals during the boss fight, healing my allies and greater restorating the tanks and miracled at an opportune time after being gs'd and kd,d to save the party from a wipe. The whole run ws only possible because of a party effort, I agrtee with Syn and co in that the kill counter is a hell of a lot of fun but by no means gives you any kind of bragging rites, yeah so I got most kills and the bard got none. But hey if we didn't have the bard I woulda got none so the bard gets as much credit for em as I do imo. In the same way my DD can go tank a Pit Fiend, it'd take me a week to kill it, IF I could beat it's regen or even hit it without gmw, taunt, bard song, etc and my Slinger got it's Malbolge tag by using Breach bullets thru most of run, am sure the mage apprefiated not having to mem breach or mords since I did that for him. Guess my point is to remember what enables ya to get those kills before ya start braggin bout getting em

I have a suggestion. Can you make the black background somewhat transparent?

I have a suggestion. Can you make the black background somewhat transparent? It would take 100% more code just for interfacing with the windows API to do so and you would probably end up with the desktop showing instead of the game square or just the first frame of the game (in the logwatcher window background). Until Vista windows didn't have true transparency.

To reset, just do: /w .resetAcaos Thanks for the clarification, but where do I type this? Inside NWN, while logged into HG? Tried it and it did not seem to do anything. I cannot figure out how to type this within LogWatcher. Thanks in advance for further clarification(s). Trazik
