Just tried to reinstall it with windows 7, install didn't work for the last 3 depenancies (failed to install a few components), and program doesn't run. Runs on my old HD (used as secondary drive), but if I copy the entire logs directory (where the dependancies are installed) over to my new HD it doesn't work either (missing libglib-2.0-0.dll, which I can still find using search)

It's been some time since the inital post was updated and there are new versions of Python and PyGTK bindings available that makes installing a bit easier. Uninstall any previous version of Python, PyGTK, PyCairo, and so on first. Python 2.7.1PyGTK all-in-one package (contains GTK runtime, PyGTK, PyCairo and a few more packages) after installing just these two I could start the logwatcher.

great, that worked on the install now I need to figure out why it ends up behind NWN instead of in front

I've got all the new versions of Python and its bindings installed, but am having problems with flickering at least once a second, no matter where I position the log window or what resolution I set the monitor at. I've read this entire thread, and have tried the alt-tab approach, with no luck. Any suggestions?
I'd love to be able to use this overlay logger; I can't get NWN to run on my large external (at a decent resolution), which would allow the use of another logger on the main laptop screen.
