Help if you can please? My wife gets into NWN and we can play for a bit then next thing you know screen blacks and system reboots. I have been suggested before that it maybe a vid or sound card problem but we have no problems playing other games. IE Everquest I am not sure how to find what kind of sound system that she has to possibly get her sound card updated and I have seen other comments that said deleting certain types of old ini sound files have helped and can't find the forum pages that i saw it in to look them up again. If you all can possibly help I would really appreciate it cause we really want to get back in together and grow our toons to get our tags and join our fellow members on runs we should have. Thanks for taking the time to answer and read this!

Any chance you could post full system specifications, sound card make & model, graphics card make & model, etc as this might help identify the problem?

One way to do this is: - Click 'Start'
- Select 'Run...'
- Type dxdiag
- Click 'OK'

You may have conflicting sound drivers then.

I read somewhere that one could go into the ini files to look for some things that could be causing it but i can't seem to find it or those particular things i am supposed to be searching

Its possible you are running into the port issues, I had this when I first started using two machines many years ago. The ini files (not nwnplayer.ini another one) should specify different port numbers. If they don't, add one to the port number of your secondary machine and see if that solves the issue. Ignore this if you're only playing on one machine at once, from your post it appears you're both playing though.

Yes I thought the same thing and thanks for that but I have checked that and both port numbers are different. I have noticed that when in the other day after making a fix to the a3d.dll - a3d.old and also the other one that we ran a bit longer until a spell was casted. The spell in question was Thunderclap. My Necro casted while we were in group going after Cesspool and when I casted it it caused her to crash. I then got to thinking that maybe I have recently downloaded yet another fix. Was there by chance something other than all the CEPs that I may have missed that might cause that.

Can anyone tell me where I can find an auto download of HG Enhanced? My wifes puter doesnt have anything to unzip the enhanced and was hoping I didn't have to sit there the whole time trying move things to the appropriate folders that they need to go into?

Is this just for sound or is it for all the specs one might want in order to trouble shoot a problem?

Sounds very much like a heat problem to me.
If the system is not a laptop you should open the computer and vacuum clean the dust of the processor cooler rips and all the heat sinks.
Watch out that you dont damage the mother board while doing so.
good luck
