Hey all,
Need some help.
I was attempting to clean up some of my nwn files to reduce graphics lag and I think I accidently deleted a critical file.
When I go to run the game....I get the standard load screen with the option to play the game. Once I click on that I get a black screen and then shortly after a error that states "NWN has encountered a problem and needs to close." It does not give me an error messege at all or anything like that.
Does anyone know how I can fix this without the re installing? My cd drive currently does not work.
Help?

You could try redownloading CEP. Could you be more specific about what you changed?

Well unfortunately I cant Acaos... I dont know what I deleted. I was trying to back out any of the World Gate stuff I downloaded for the Enhanced fix you recently put through. I have been catching horrible graffix lag since I tried to run the update. I was working fine before that. I will try to update CEP again first and see if that fixes it , if it doesnt then I will run the critical rebuild Trazik suggests. Thanks guys..... Keep your fingers crossed.

CD drive just crapped out on me.
I tried un installing and re installing drivers, Then updated drivers,
It is completely un responsive. Wont open without the force from a paperclip through the spring hole.
I have taken it apart and put it back together, can see nothing that I know of out of place....cant see any broken pieces to the board for the drive.
I think I may just need to replace it.
I will install the critical rebuild as well.
Thanks Trazik and TJ.
Thanks to Acaos for the CEP thoguhts too.... turns out I was missing some .hak files there.

Ok...well the critical rebuild would not work. Said I had too high of an updated version..
so instead of backing out my update. I went ahead and finally got smart.
I took the files from my desktop and saved em on my flash drive.....then transferred to laptop.
Sorry to waste your time guys.
