Those that have played with me know that I used to crash... A LOT! Well, right now things are rolling smoothly with my setup again. I'm running Windows XP, with an nVidia 8800 GTS, but the drivers I'm using now are a set from a site called Omegadrivers.net. -> NVIDIA (Omega 2.169.21) is the set, and the url is here -> www.omegadrivers.net/nvidia_winxp.phpI don't know if they'll work for you, but they worked for me RoCK

On linux, I can difinitively say that using the latest drivers, if possible, is almost always the best way to go (the only exception is if there's a bug). This is in contrast to windows, where older drivers often outperform newer ones on older games/cards. Also, if you're an ATI user, it might be a good idea to try out the radeon (not fglrx/ati-drivers) driver and see if it'll work with your card. :-)

Have to agree on the omegadrivers, I've used em for years, and they are much stabler, sometimes better performance and some nice extra's

Just got my Ubuntu 10.04 and Nvidia drivers working after 3 hours of work.
I have Nvidia Geforce 9650m gt.
Using older 173.14.22 drivers with new 195.x.x.x Xorg settings because driver versions 180,185,195 didn't work.
EDIT: Testing version 195.36.15 again with new Xorg settings and system seems to work now: Xorg PowerMizer Performance Level has to be 3 to work without crashing, Nv Clock: 550Mhz, Memory Clock: 400 Mhz.

Interesting. I use ubuntu 10.04 and I've never had a bit of trouble out of the newer nvidia drivers. Then again, I use a 7600 gs.
