I consider this build outdated with the recent changes to divination and conjuration not having them is quite a issue when trying to damage or instakill.
The name: Mestre dos Magos is the name of the character from Dungeons and dragons, Dungeon master, here in Brasil. It doesnt mean really dungeon master, it means "Mages' Master" instead.
This is my wizard build, really good to play in hells. And I bet he will do really good in abo/ely as well, but still didnt have the opportunity to go there.

Ammy: Amulet of the axerian grandmaster
Cloak: Cloak of the axerian grandmaster
Shield: Ur-ward or Impasse of impulse (UR-ward is better for hells, because of the extra 5% exotics)
This is my basic spellbook (it does not include bestow, because I dont like to be near things to use it, I prefer wasting a round using a mord scroll than this, but sometimes I get them, especially if the druid is slacking ) :

Spells and what to do with them
These are the ones I use normally:
- Mage armor: It gives you some dodge ac, good for hells. Especially if you cast them regularly during a run on x1 demi toons.
- Endure Elements: Gives 10% to all elements and also is very helpful for x1 demis, or new players.
- Burning hands: Only used to break walls
- Expeditious Retreat: Run forrest run!! Cast an extended version always. Nice to position yourself faster and avoid aoo.
- Fire weapon: Buff players' weapons, but ask first before doing it, cause a lot of things heal by fire if you are in a high demi party.
- Ghostly visage: Use extended version. I always have it in my first quickbar, and use it mainly for a reposition in a random or nasty mob.
- Ice storm: I have only one memorized in case I need to break a wall fast and completely
- Gust of wind: Fumes killer and removes clouds from creatures like nighmare. The DC isnt the best in town, but after an Energy drain it often hits fast.
- Elemental shield: Gives 50% cold and fire. beware!! if you are being hit by a party wide KB creature, use GV and reposition, cause this will cause KB for the entire party.
- Energy buffer: 60/- to all elementals is uber, never leave your home without it =)
- Enervation: It gives 10% vulnerability for all elementals and drain levels if the creature fails the save. Really good reason to fish for 1's during nasty boss fights or to finish creatures not immune to level drain. Usually try it after energy drain, but not always.
- Ethereal Visage: This is your AC, 80% conceal ftw. Without it you are squishy, so put it in the first place in your autocaster.
- Greater stoneskin: Damage absorption
- Flesh to stone: Really good spells with nice DC. Try to stone Machines and Kocrachons. Paragon machines are immune to this. I only use it if the cleric and druid is slacking doing their jobs =P and if my disintegrate failed.
- Eyebite: Lower saves like the prayer spell. Use it only if the cleric isnt using prayer effectively. It is single target unlike prayer.
- Shadow shield: Necromancy immunity, 100% negative immunity and death magic immunity. Really nice.
- Tensers: Extra HP and AC for you. The timer is short, cast an extended version.
- Disintegrate: Mini implosion spell. Really good for killing machines, and lesser creatures.
- Circle of Death: Instant effect spell for death magic. Super uber.
- Greater sanctuary: use it if you need etherealness for a long time.
- Energy immunity: 50% to a single element. Short duration, so cast extended.
- Premonition: Damage soak.
- Mind blank: Protect against common mind effects and heals scrypted abilities like confusion/stunned/dazed. Good to have because you will be often the one not affevted by this, cuz you are in the back. So heal your mates for the win.
- Bigbys Clenched: Damage and more damage. Use it on mobs that cant be insta-killed like bosses, males, pit fiends and others.
- Energy Drain: Way to lower saves and get extra temporary caster levels/DC/Sp for your spells. If possible always get the red aura around you, it makes everything so much easier. Having a soul jar from catacombs helps a lot.
- Bygbis Crushing hand: Use it on rakhasas as soon as possible. And never use it in things with KB. Paragon rakhasas needs to be morded before using this spell.
- Wail: Extra large death magic spell. but it takes a while to force the mob te save, good during spawns, especially if you cast before they spawn, and while the animation is going on, they appear and the bard curses and the cleric prays =) then, the effect appears. (this doesnt happens often, and most of the times you'll be unable to penetrate SR, sadly)
- Weird: same as wail, but respect mind spells and fear. Good Advespa and rakhasa killer. beside other things.
