Weird. Followed this build exactly with halfling planewalker but never could pick expertise when I was supposed to.
Weaponmaster never happened. Any advice?

Been thinking of posting builds again and thought I would start by updating this. Unfortunately the build I used is very close to this one. The biggest difference is my str is 32 so I would only fail a PF KD check on a 7 or below. There are also some minor differences in feats but I'm not sure it would warrant posting yet another pure rogue build on the forums. Should I update this thread or post in swifty's thread?

Should I update this thread or post in swifty's thread? Both? Update in this one and quote it in swifty's thread.

I'd say keep your own stuff in your own thread. People know you and eventually your thread will become the most prominent...which will help people choose it over other builds from less experience builders....which means you'll be playing with better built characters...which means we all win. My 2 cents.

Oh and I'm not sure what you eventually went with but I've been extremely happy with my 35 Rogue/5 Paladin even though he's only a Lycan. If I had used a better race with him, I'm sure he'd be an absolute terror. I think more rogue levels > weapon master levels atm. Breezed through Avernus to Stygia so far with him and had a blast with the uber damage I was dishing out. Oh and I actually ditched SC5 with him and had no problems surving with hide + spell driven conceal, and thanks to breach boot the buffs were semi permanent. Something to consider anyhow.

Please move this out of the archives and into the current builds database.

Mish, why remove your Halfling Death build? This was a classic HG build and is still viable even though maybe not fully optimized due to some changes. Why not just create a new thread?

Mainly because this one is much better. The threat range/multiplier is almost the same, it has 9d6 higher sneak attacks, can sneak anything including monsters immune to it, it has higher concealment, it doesn't suffer skill penalties, and I could just go on and on but I think you get the idea.

I have no doubt this is a better build, I am just sad the Halfling Death build couldn't have lived on for posterity in the archives. New readers would also not be as confused by the first 13 pages of comments.
Anyways, thanks for another great build.

Hi, I just picked up Half Guardinal which looks similar stats wise, although no bonus to Con. Do you think that it would still be viable for this build to keep the Str or would you still drop it in order to bump up the Con. Also, would the feat progression stay pretty much the same? I don't have Koly and this looks like the best substitute I have, so any input would be appreciated... Regards, Trubble

I'm sorry but a human base race is vital in order to get the two 1st level feats. Without it you would have to give up LSA discipline or hardened soul, both are really not an option for a front line tank.

Gah... Guess it's back to the drawing board then. Thanks for the swift reply though. Regards, Trubble
