This is a reincarnation of my old Fighter/WM/Assassin. Now that you can use an Assassin Dagger to get a 9-20 crit range without WM levels I decided to drop the Fighter and WM levels and take Rogue and Paladin instead, to enable me to open locks and disable traps, and also give my saves a boost. I pasted the old build into a reply a couple of posts down the page if anyone's interested. Screenshot at 60 (pre Demi) with Dex Artifact, Bardsong, Girding of the Faithful, Instruments of Faith and a mixture of BUR and UR gear:With song and one piece of +15 hide gear my conceal is maxed out at 67% Blurb:The DC on this build is 54 at 60, 55 with Dex artifact and 56/57 with Demi/DoubleDemi. The screenshot shows a +7 weapon with keen. AB is 72 with a +0 weapon or 92 with gmw and song. AC would be 145 with Asmo deflection artifact and 1xDemi, 146 with 2xDemi. Race:Human Subrace:"Wraith" (secret subrace) - no race requirement (changes Appearance) STR - 3, DEX +3, INT +1, +6 hide, +6 move silently, free feat: Aura of Courage, free feat: Immunity to Sleep, free feat: Perfect Health, Immunity: Death Magic Stats:STR 8 (5) DEX 17 (20) CON 12 WIS 8 INT 17 (18) CHA 8 Skills:Hide: 2, Move Silently: 2 (must be taken on first level, req. for Assassin) Discipline (Paladin levels and Legendary levels - only after taking LSA Disipline) Parry (LLs, only after taking LSA Parry) Tumble Umd Hide (helps with conceal) Craft Armor (boosts AC for every 40 points) Open Lock Disable Trap Search Level Progression:4 Rogue/10 Assassin/6 Paladin/20 Assassin Alignment:Lawful Evil to start, change to Lawful good for Paladin levels and back to Lawful Evil for Epic Assassin levels. Change back to Good after taking your last Assassin level at 40 so that your Paladin bonus saves kick in (requires CHA boosting gear). Feats:1. Bullheaded (Qualifies for LSA Discipline) 1. Snake Blood (Qualifies for LSA Parry) 3. Weapon Finesse 6. Weapon Focus Club - means you can use assassin dagger 9. Toughness 12. Improved Crit Club 15. Blind Fight 18. Iron Will 21. Epic Weapon Focus 24. Epic Prowess 27. Armor Skin 30. Great Dexterity 33. Great Dexterity 36. Great Dexterity 39. I was wondering about your wraith after I saw you in action. I must say, quite some "mortal strikes" floated above his head. Too bad about the fort/will saves there.

Will and fort are way too low for lower hells. dunno if ya even taking this guy there but... I am not sure they are way too low. Some builds cannot afford to be much higher than the 60 mark without serious compromise, indeed only 1 of my demis has saves "way over" 60 and those others that aren't are already re-tagged back to try Nessus again, just need to play the char a bit more carefully than others. Also the type of char and its role affects how great the saves need to be, I do not see Assassin as a shock troop tank that is there to stay alive the longest and soak everything thats thrown at the party. So while the char will die a bit, its not the main tank so thats fine. Cheers Lala

Your thoughts please..
I've been thinking about reincarnating my Wraith assassin and decided I want to give him the capability to open locks and disable traps without sacrificing Mortal Strike DC. I'm going to change the level progression to 4 rogue, 6 paladin, 30 assassin in order to take advantage of rogue's 8 skill points a level (before taking INT mod and human's 1 free skill point a level into account), to get 4 base attacks per round and to get +5 to all saves from the Paladin levels (based on CHA mod).
I'll also need to pump INT a little more, which means dropping CON a little (-60 hitpoints: would be -120 but I managed to fit toughness in).
Stats (wraith adjustments): dex 17 (20) con 12 int 17 (18)
Skill points: 6x8 (rogue) = 48 4x2 (paladin) = 8 30x4 (assassin) = 120 60x1 (human) = 60 60x4 (int mod) = 240 +12 (wraith) = 488
(482 needed for 60 points in 8 skills and 2 points in move silently)
Discipline (LLs, only after taking LSA Disipline) Parry (LLs, only after taking LSA Parry) Tumble Umd Hide (helps with conceal) Open Locks Disable Traps Search Move Silently 2 points (assassin prereq)
Also decided to change feats round a little and use Club weapon feats to allow the use of the Assassin Dagger. Fort and Will saves should be 57 and 55 respectively.
Progression: 4 rogue, 10 assassin, 6 paladin, 20 assassin
Feats: 1. Bullheaded (Qualifies for LSA Discipline) 1. Snake Blood (Qualifies for LSA Parry) 3. Weapon Finesse 6. Weapon Focus Club - means you can use assassin dagger 9. Toughness 12. Improved Crit Club 15. Blind Fight 18. Iron Will 21. Epic Weapon Focus 24. Epic Prowess 27. Armor Skin 30. Great Dexterity 33. Great Dexterity 36. Great Dexterity 39. Great Fort
(Bonus Assassin Feat) Great Dexterity (Bonus Assassin Feat) Great Dexterity (Bonus Assassin Feat) Great Dexterity (Bonus Assassin Feat) Great Dexterity (Bonus Assassin Feat) Great Dexterity
42. LSA Discipline 45. LSA Parry 48. Legendary Will 51. Legendary Fort 54. Legendary Weapon Focus 57. Great Dexterity 60. Great Dexterity

Just a thought - I had an assassin who was missing 1 att per round and it does hurt a LOT. Think carefully about that decision!

Hmm... You could go 6 rogue 4 ranger 30 assassin or 6 rogue 4 barbarian 30 assassin for 4 base attacks per round and still have enough skill points to get 60 ranks in 8 skills (both ranger and barbarian get 4 skill points per level - ranger gets a favoured enemy while barb gets a 10% movement speed increase) You'd lose improved evasion, but that's not too important.. Better still you could go 6 rogue 4 paladin 30 assassin and get 4 base attacks per round and fort and will to 60+. That would leave you 4 points shy of enough skill points to get 60 ranks in 8 skills (paladin gets 2 skill points per level)... but it wouldn't hurt too much if spread among umd, discipline, parry and hide.... just remembered that Wraith gets bonuses to hide and move silently too, so should have a few more skill points to play with than I thought. Think that's what I'll do, sounds much better than 10 rogue/30 assassin! Thanks for posting

One more thought - why do you need to max UMD? 40ish points gets you scroll use under even tough hell conditions - the rest is perhaps nice for a few items but barely worth any more.

Your current 6 rogue, 4 pally/ranger, 10 assassin will max at 15 bab preepic, so no forth attack. You need to switch around rogue and full bab class levels. So 6 levels of a full bab class and only four levels of rogue = even less skill points but better fort saves.

I usually use it for epic warding from Dachy staves, but a few points less probably won't make a difference.

Finished reincarnating this and I'm happy with it, so I've posted the build in the original post, updated the title and posted a screenshot. Thanks for your help MurphysLawAgain and Shaengarne ..Turns out I had enough skill points to max all the skills I wanted and get Craft Armor too, with points to spare! Cheers, -Bort

I'm making a toon with similar class layout though different race (Elf Kolyarut) and stats. In my case due to feats and skills I'm not able to put points into rogue skills (search, disable trap, open lock) which is really too bad. I note that you say you're going to in the opening paragraph, but the skills list doesn't include any of them. Also for Hells you'd need ESF Search/DT wouldn't you? Though that 18 INT might get you pretty far without it.
It's been a fun build so far. Just got immo at level 35 -- can't wait for dev crit with an assassin dagger. I've been using saps and sai's the whole time since I don't have any low level ADs. Damage output has been very good, and AC is stellar (hit unbuffed 100 AC at level 32).
Edit: Went on a low level Ssith run at level 39. Bad idea -- just not enough resists and AC to tank 2-5 of them at once. Hit level 40 on 2nd barracks spawn, AC went up to 126, Parson's cloak doubled my exotic resists and after that it was just burning through rez scrolls for the rest of the party. Did DB at level 40 and with decent fire+cold+magic and it did great.

Been thinking of ditching my rogue plans for this build, I have been trying it out with an old reincarnated toon (pre immo pixie) As I'm planning on using an Atomie theres a bit of a problem with the 1st level feats (so will lose one LSA I think), but.. can't have it all I guess
