Shuriken Grandmaster (Wizard/Monk): ----------------------------------------------------------
Requirements: Must have 11 levels of Wizard, 1 level of Monk and Weapon Focus: Shuriken before level 13. They gain the Box of Shurikens on meeting these requirements.
Benefits: -For most spells, casterlevels are equal to Wizard level + (Monk/3) -For certain spells, casterlevel = Wizard level + Monk level. -Spell DCs for all spells are equal to 10 + spell level + (DEX or WIS or INT modifierx9/10 - depends on what´s higher) -Shuriken Grandmasters get an extended duration on the Tenser's Transformation spell. It lasts for 1 turn per casterlevel instead of 1 round per casterlevel. Certain spells are: ----- 2 -Darkness -Cloud of Bewilderment -Invisibility 3 -Gust of Wind -Stinking Cloud 4 -Improved Invisibility 5 -Mind Fog -Cloudkill 6 -Acid Fog -Tenser's Transformation -----
Shuriken Grandmaster´s Box of Shurikens gives him special Shurikens which improve as the Shuriken Grandmaster gains levels:
Enhancement: Improves like normal Greater Magic Weapon ((Wizard´s level + Monk´s level + LL)/3) capped at +20 at Shuriken Grandmaster´s level 60
Mighty: Improves like enhancement but it´s capped at +10 (//it´s possible to increase it//)
Damage type: Improves every 5 lvls (starting at 12,15,20,25...) and number of types is Shuriken Grandmaster´s level/5: Monk Level 1- fire, cold Monk Level 4- fire, cold, electrical Monk Level 9- fire, cold, electrical, acid Monk Level 14- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic Monk Level 19- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic, magic Monk Level 24- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic, magic, divine Monk Level 29- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic, magic, divine, positive, negative (bonus for level 40)
Damage bonus: Level 12- 1d4 Level 16- 1d6 Level 20- 1d8 Level 24- 1d10 Level 28- 2d6 Level 32- 2d8 Level 36- 2d10 Level 40- 2d12
Maybe it can continue at LLs. There could be something like Deadly Attack (the same as Assasin has), effect Blidness or Improvement of Damage bonus to 15-20.
This idea comes from my notion of Ninja who has deadly Shuriken in his hands (can kill with one hit).
Edit: Monk´s bonus of Damage types and enhancement Edit: Spells

Not bad. Giving dexers etherial visage or greater stoneskin is out of the qestion, but otherwise not too overpowered. Also not enough wizard levels requirted, I suspect, though wihout so many spells it's less of an issue. What about making the shuriken dev crit-ish similar to the assassin's scabbard? Lower ab than the assassin, at least, so a lower req might be ok. Also some spells for offense, maybe cloud spells? Cob, Stinking Cloud, and Mind Fog all seem ninja-like, along with maybe cloudkill, acid fog, and incindary cloud. Nice work, I'll consider adding this in some form. Funky

I´ve choosen wizard 11 because of Tensers´s transformation because Ninja has deadly accuracy and TS helps a lot. It also gives 5 attacks per round - needed. Adding clouds is really great idea. True is that greater stoneskin with EV and relatively high AC is overpowered (that´s why I added ** ). Also not enough wizard levels requirted, I suspect, though wihout so many spells it's less of an issue......I´m not sure if I understand this but Shuriken Grandmaster can be without mage armor (+3 AC-useles), shield (immunity to igms and ilms is good but..), true strike (casterlevels have no effect), strenght, dexterity and wisdom (can be replaced with TS and items), stoneskin (as you said) and elemental protection (it´s cool but Shuriken Grandmaster already has evasion). So the only reason why I want 11 wizard is Tenser´s Transformation . Edit: And one more thing. Damage bonus increases with levels of character but Damage type increases with Monk levels!

The reason that there might not be enough wizard levels is that they drop your ab. There must be some downside to the quasiclass, other than not being able to select a more standard class combination. Funky

Well, his BAB is lesser than Staffmaster´s wizard 11 - +5 (-+-+-+-+-+-) monk 9 - +6 (-+++-+++-) =11 wizard 15 - +7 (-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-) wm 5 - +5 (+++++) =12 It can be wiz 15/5 monk: wizard 15 - +7 monk 5 - +3 =10 so that´s only 2 basic attacks but with shuriken it´s 4 (2 basic + 1 haste + 1 rapid shot) In this situation Shuriken Grandmaster is VERY sad if someone dispells him. He losts lots of AB and 2 attacks and I can remember how mad I was in Razhid´s Burial Chamber with my Staffmaster when Arcane Spectre dispelled me .

The question isn't what ab other quasiclasses have, its what your quasiclass is giving up to gets its special abilities. Funky

Shuriken Grandmaster losts his Dex bonus when he´s flatfooted . My idea is that he´ll lost some of monk´s abilities: -concealment (I can take away improved invisibility and leave only invisibility too) -healing I´ll do the list again: Shuriken Grandmaster (Wizard/Monk): ---------------------------------------------------------- Requirements: Must have 11 levels of Wizard, 1 level of Monk, Weapon Focus: Shuriken, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot and Blind Fight before level 13. They gain the Box of Shurikens on meeting these requirements. Benefits: -For most spells, casterlevels are equal to Wizard level + (Monk/3) -For certain spells, casterlevel = Wizard level + Monk level. -Spell DCs for all spells are equal to 10 + spell level + (DEX or WIS or INT modifierx9/10 - depends on what´s higher) -Ninjas get an extended duration on the Tenser's Transformation spell. It lasts for 1 turn per casterlevel instead of 1 round per casterlevel. Certain spells are: ----- 2 -Darkness -Cloud of Bewilderment -Invisibility 3 -Gust of Wind -Stinking Cloud 5 -Mind Fog -Cloudkill 6 -Acid Fog -Tenser's Transformation ----- Shuriken Grandmaster´s Box of Shurikens gives him special Shurikens which improve as the Ninja gains levels: Enhancement: Improves like normal Greater Magic Weapon ((Wizard´s level + Monk´s level + LL)/3) capped at +20 at Shuriken Grandmaster´s level 60 Mighty: Improves like enhancement but it´s capped at +10 (//it´s possible to increase it//) Damage type: Improves every 5 lvls (starting at 12,15,20,25...) and number of types is Shuriken Grandmaster´s level/5: Monk Level 1- fire, cold Monk Level 4- fire, cold, electrical Monk Level 9- fire, cold, electrical, acid Monk Level 14- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic Monk Level 19- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic, magic Monk Level 24- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic, magic, divine Monk Level 29- fire, cold, electrical, acid, sonic, magic, divine, positive, negative (bonus for level 40) Damage bonus: Level 12- 1d4 Level 16- 1d6 Level 20- 1d8 Level 24- 1d10 Level 28- 2d6 Level 32- 2d8 Level 36- 2d10 Level 40- 2d12 Negatives: -losts monk´s ability Wholeness of Body because he abets his Shuriken with his Mind too so he doesn´t have enough energy to concetrate and heal his body (there must be some reason so it´s symbolically told ) -losts monk´s ability Empty Body -losts monk´s ability Perfect Self Please tell me what would you like to change.

Just adding $0.02, and if this sounds nit-picky, i apologize. I really like the ideas for this quasiclass, and the abilities seem to be balancing out well. But can we name it something besides ninja? Ninjas are the definition of concealment in my mind, and are more like the existing monk or assassin dex builds out there.
Like I said, just one players opinion, but there it is.

Sure, Ninja was the first name which came into my mind and I didn´t want "Shurikenmaster" because there´s already "Staffmaster" .

Don't sweat it, we'll make any needed changes if we decide to use it. There's too many things to take into consideration when balancing to be worth explaining. Funky

Is it possible to include a feat that allows a katana to be finnessed? As a ninja would have the secret to this (they did this in the PRC is why I venture that). Make it require, imp crit+wf:katana+ewf:katana+dex25 for example.

Nice idea, but I think I should really rename this Quasiclass because I want it with Shuriken. Lets call it Shuriken grandmaster.
