This poll describes itself. I am curious as to what kind of music my fellow HGer's are interested in. Pick two listed and describe why and some of your favorite "bands" from your choices. If I do not have yours listed, don't vote and list your two favorites here. My two votes go for metal and techno. Metal, yes Metal, just really inspires me sometimes. Especially bands like: Lamb of God, Escape the Fate, Arch Enemy, Gojira (this band is dedicated to the earth, they constantly write songs about global warming and other disasters they believe to be happening here). For techno, a simple band named Da Rude just has the beat, rythm, etc I want in music. So there's my two, let's here what you guys have to say. Feel free to comment on others music choices, but let's keep this from getting to the FO - Pain

For hip-hop, I usually listen to nerd-core or indy hip-hop like Busdriver, Danger Mouse or Dr. Doom.
Jazz, for me it's either the standards like Miles Davis or modern groups like The Bad Plus or Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey.

Moonsorrow: Might and melancholia with raw fury and subtle beauty braided into harmonics most majestic - my personal favourite.
Finntroll
Eluveitie
Equilibrium
Korpiklaani
Viking metal (similar in style, but about vikings in particular):
Turisas
Ensiferum
(oh and theres loads more...)

I went with rock and pop although my first choice would probably be alternative rock. Muse and Coldplay are my favourite bands and about the only ones I really listen to entire albums of, other than that I listen to a little bit of everything, depending on my mood.

I like many styles of music but I listen to Metal & Rap the most. I grew up listening to a lot of rap from people like 2pac, Ice Cube, and Bone Thugs. I also listened to quite a bit of alternative from artists like Green Day and Offspring. I started listening to Metal when I moved to Ohio about 10 years ago and that's been my favorite genre ever since.
Lamb of God is my definitely my favorite metal band. Their music inspired me to buy a guitar and learn how to play a bit. Some other bands I like are Rammstein, Chimaira, Fear Factory, Trivium, Metallica, DragonForce, and Ill Nino. I also listen to classical quite a bit. I love the real epic sounding stuff like Orff's O Fortuna or Verdi's Dies Irae. These days when I listen to rap it's usually something from either Tech N9ne or Bone Thugs.
One song I absolutely love to listen to when playing my Barbarian on HG is Rammstein - Waidmann's Heil.
Die Kreatur Muss Sterben!!

Just listened to Waidmanns Heil. Must say it's a great song. I also like Rammstein - Bang Bang and Du Hast.
Edit: Doh, forgot to add Du Riechst So Gut and Hilf Mir.

Do you know what Zerstören means? It means to ruin. As for the song I've never really looked at the translation.

Only 2 choices is pretty limiting, and you didn't even have Classical up there!
So... I voted for Rock and Techno (not the heavy rave-stuff). In Techno, mainly 8-bit-like (check out Die Wundervelt der technik or 8-bit w0nder) music. Besides that, Classic Rock and classical! Chopin FTW!
*edit*
I voted Jazz... question was "Which is your favorite" not "Which do you listen to". Still would have chosen classical over Rock.
