Hi all
is there anyone that have tried to play NWN on a big TV, and how does that work in that case ?
I am thinking bout getting the new Mac product, Mini PC and hook it up to the 46" LCD TV I have. now, I know since NWN is a old game, the graphics is capped to relatively low resolution. I cant have my characters flying around like Commodore 64 characters, that would kind of spoil the fun .... I read somewhere that there is a program to buy, to run NWN 2 ,on a TV without any problems. Does it exist similar to NWN 1 ?
Any feedback, ideas or other input is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Biggest I've gone is a 32" LG that we moved upstairs to our room a few months back. My TV actually has a VGA input so it was fine for me, I didn't need any extra software. It wasn't very good tbh, but then that tv wasn't an HD screen so the resolution was kinda junk. I think if your card is high enough quality with HDMI you should be able to use this without anything extra and decent quality; though I can only attest to VGA connections in terms of work/not work .

I have hooked up my netbook via HDMI to watch streaming video from websites like Hulu and Crunchyroll. I haven't tested NWN since I went from a 37" to a 46" but I found 1080p NWN did not look good on 37" but 720p worked good.

HD-TV's have the same resolution as 22-inch monitors This means that the viewing quality can be compared as you would compare a full HD movie on your TV and monitor. I tried it on mine and it looks awesome

Hey Herc. I play NWN on a 32" HDTV at the maximum 1920x1080 resolution and it works and looks just great. I don't have to use any special software to get that resolution on NWN. The only thing that might stop you from playing at such a high resolution is your graphics card(s).

The issue I had at such a high resolution was from my couch I couldn't read the chat or combat logs due to it being such fine print. This was tested with a 37" at the same distance my current 46" is at so it might be better now running at 1080p.

You can enable a high resolution font in the NWN options. Not sure if you knew that or not.

You can enable a high resolution font in the NWN options. Not sure if you knew that or not. I forgot about it and I intend to do more testing but really it doesn't solve the biggest problem... mouse and keyboard. I can't use the laptop mouse and keyboard and all the mouse and keyboard I have found are A too expensive B eat batteries like a cop eats donuts C big bulky and ugly D no range on the wireless or E any combination of the previous. Though before the wireless was for use with a HTPC I had and not for use with my laptop so I might opt for wired setup.

I tried this with a 32" tv, and wireless keyboard and mouse. It looked ok, but I only had it set to around 1200x800 or so res, because of the card I had at the time (this is years ago), and it was often hard to read text as a result. The higher the resolution, the better, I'd imagine.
