I see a few builds on here but they are old so I am wondering if anyone can point me to a solid build for a demix1 for hells and beyond. Def want step by step if able since I am lost in paragon levels and what to expect beyond hells . Pls and thanks ))

Wizards are a lot of fun. I certainly enjoy mine immensely - and I am sure some of the primary wiz players will suggest something.

First of all, you should read a few guides made by vets. The "hints and tricks" are more than just need to know basics, its "almost mandatory". Raj's SR guideLaser's General Advice for Level 55+ AreasAfter that I would make up my mind in what you want from your build. As listed in Lasers post, there are a few "must have schools" for arcanes.(Evo + Illusion) I would personally also select Necro I would not choose Divination at this point, but who knows what Funky got up his sleeve with new areas soon to come. out of this information, and what kind subrace you got available, you should be able to make your wizard build. As for paragons feats: this is more individual, so I will leave it with that. (You must have paragon Spell penetration for sure, and I would without any second thoughts take Polymath, to get access to Karsus) Edit: forgot to mention the obvious. - Make sure you max Int at creation (18)
- Make sure you max Int at level up, all the way to 60.
- Make sure you take great int feats atleast 8, but I would recommend 10
Good luck Herc

Wizards are quite the universal tool, and preped are perfect to adjust to any upcomming challenge. For schools I would follow quite what was suggested so far. Evo (good everywhere), Illu(very good for elysium and rona, abyss a must have) and Necro(primarily for hells and aboleths, but good in the abyss vs certain mobs as well, and in (pre-)LL it owns) make your toon usable already on any run. If you want to go beyond hells and visit the abyss more, Div is actually nice to have for PWK alone, but not absolutely needed. Conjuration is also alot of fun if you want to go more for damage.
If you have Genie go with it, otherwise Negatai (human) or worst case Spelljammer (gnome) are good alternatives.
Regarding good wiz builds on the forums. There are hardly any. The most solid I have seen are often even the open subs and you could work from there as a base.

Wow thanks for the fast responses ! @ Herc: you read my mind. This is my first pure caster (other than Caster Bard) so as soon as I posted the original request I realized that I know jack and or squat about tactics for a wiz. I will be doing much research prior to reinc. I do have a Genie (Thanks Raj!) and will be looking at the open forums. Gonna see what I come up with after I read. THanks again !

This build has 6 epic spells (7 if you include Greater Ruin), 1 Epic spell Focus, 1 Legendary Spell Focus, 4 Paragon Spell Focai along with Paragon Spell Penetration.
Personal preference will allow you to shuffle things around. Everyone and their brother will change the para feats in order to get Karsus. Also, there is some debate over taking Para Transmute Focus instead of Para Evo feat. Again, whatever works for you...

let you be warned ! if you are an inexperienced Wizard player, like you claim I would be very careful with Evards due to kickback, in the start. It takes some time to learn the KB monsters, and to control it fully. Especially in Abyss. It's still a really good spell, but conj can be discussed to be changed for another school. When I reinc my wizzy, I'll drop GR, have 5 Leg. schools ( with one paragon feat burned for last school, enpowered, extend and maybe maximize [if I can afford it])

Something I would consider, at least at this current time, pickup Polymathy before any Paragon Spell Knowledge

One of the things I like most about Wizards is the ability to be a full searcher while staying pure as a caster. It simply makes soloing runs more valuable - however I more than understand that doing so is not for everyone.
