Assassins are considered a second class ranger. With that in mind let's throw a few ideas. Here I got three: 1 - Penetrating strike disregards enemy's immunity/resistances instead. (As the name suggests) 2 - Mortal strike DC is based on both str and dex (making the class better than drow shape) 3 - Assassin can splash better (I.e. ms requires only level 21, and dc don't use class level) Well parry and more skill points would be nice The skill points would help with rogue skills, CW/CA and possibly bluff / set trap. Or maybe a "bleed"/dot effect based on Asn level? Quite fitting. Maybe penetrating strike could inflict Festering Wounds like hamatulas. Remove the cap of one mortal strike per round. When there was no cap it was always very cool to get multiple great cleave mortal strikes. There are many mass insta kill spells, why must a melee be limited to insta killing just one creature per round and a spell caster is not? Given it's melee only ability, it would be pretty fair.

Drow shapes could not be better than pure assasin due to the weapon they wield. Assassins are considered a second class ranger. With that in mind let's throw a few ideas. Not sure how it works, but on my non wisdom shifter tank that has form focus 3 humanoid I was mortal striking bandits in the east road without even getting critical hits?... is that a bug or a bonus to being a shifter? Im positive that I was not rolling crits when they got ms'd

Some ideas...
They get an item or ability that lets them remove critical hit immunity from a non boss creature for 10 rounds or something.
They get the ability to take parry LL
They get /4 of their str mod added to MS DC
Epic dodge for a certain amount of levels
Get a bonus stat in LL like their ranger counterparts...

Im positive that I was not rolling crits when they got ms'd You don't need to crit. It is a separated check for ms Thus you can insta kill crit immune with foe bane

So drow shape is a lot better in that case.. you can just max dc and still end up with uni stats, high hp and higher parry

How about a save decrease with penetrating strike.

Critical threat still influence on how often you attempt mortal strike. Also, drowned doesn't have penetrating strikes

As discussed earlier true poison immunity would be cool. OR maybe SR or saves. How about a save decrease with penetrating strike. Too much like a Ranger, no?
