An idea came to me, we are some who have special pets who have the subrace of your choice and they have the same power even if our toon is lvl 1 or lvl 80 the pet never change, for thoses who dont know thoses pets they are special pet from Funky gift
I thinked why each toon cannot have his own special pet in the same way, i explain, to have the possibility to have a special item a toon can win and wich you he can build in a choice menu his own pet specification and the pet could evoluate like we do with ours toons leveling, then to choose the subraces the skills, feats etc
Sure this will need to have some restrictions like to not be able to use them like in party over 3-4 or to not be able to use more then 2-3 of them per party group.
As the server is less busy then it was some years ago i think this could be a nice thing to have. I know we can have bot but this is realy not the same and for my part i realy dont have in mind to play more then one accout at time. Then as if we can choose the pet feats, skills, ability etc we could chose also if they can levitate, breath underwater , kind of wp focus etc, this could be also a nice challenge to have to work on building different kind of pets and this can open a fun perspective on building different kind of pets instead to always have to chose on thoses from planars or elements summons.
This is just a idea and sure this surely need to have it more develop

This is not too far off a plan we have for henchman and mercenaries. Determining proper scaling is the issue that is slowing that down.

As long as the pets/mercs are not buggy and crash the game, they could be thrown in the game in a build as test version - I'm sure there would be plenty of people willing to test them out, and based on these test results you could figure out the scaling after. Even if they were slightly (or way) too strong or too weak, it'd be easier to make this decision after seeing them in action. Would make the process a lot faster.
I assume priorities pre-LL would be being able to hurt tag bosses so that even a tank could bring down 30 - 35 - 40 tag bosses. Making it possible to alter their physical damage type ./ exotic damage type would level the playing field for those not using the double damage type weapons and those unable to dish it out enough exotic damage if they have not found the correct weapon. Having a tankier type, an archer type and a caster type(s) would allow players to pick one suitable for their toon/tastes.
For LLs, Hell/Abyss I assume having a bardmerc, and cleric/druid/bard epic providing mercs - or CoT mercs with a SR dropping aura (up to 8-10 to not be as good as a player) sr drop at highest level would help a lot towards not needing a "full core squad" for every run. Being able to hire -one- of these to a party would be neat. They would obviously not replace actual cores played powerwise, not even close, but would help.
Also being able to change the damage types (to prevent healing / not being completely useless) these mercs deal would be quite mandatory. Just couple of my opinions/suggestions.
Edit: just a buffer merc able to buff a weapon with one of the elementals and one of the exotic damage types would be cool. Paladins/BK would be top of the crop tanks even if their single rights of div buffing was taken away.
