We entered the first room after a pretty smooth Min, and Quimath's ability started affecting the whole party after we cleared the first room. Party got wiped so we couldn't finish the run.

i've had boss trap zones activate early a couple times before in styg never been able to even guess at what causes it quite rare bug but super lame when it happens sabre can prolly port you to map3 w/ kc to finish the tag if you manage to get the party together again and catch her online then again it's not really worth it anyway

The logs said "Quimath fills the air outside his chamber with flailing chains!". Also the damage got higher and higher even though I used Restoration every round, eventually reaching 1500 damage and killing me.
EDIT: Is there any chance to get the gold for item restoration refunded? It's probably gonna drain my reserves as it was an UR belt.

yeah that's the boss trap (the flavor text is unique to each run to make it appropriate)

I spotted something that looked like Evards and saw the message and said Log but didn't have the time to do a full explanation as I knew what was coming shortly after

Looks like this very rare bug occurs on some hells layers since years. Would be fantastic to be fixed before a hardcore group runs into it.

Do you remember if you transictioned to last map with some summons? Just a wild guess, but while I know it happens like once every 1000 runs, I've never first hand witnessed it

Looks like this very rare bug occurs on some hells layers since years. Would be fantastic to be fixed before a hardcore group runs into it. We actually had it happen on an early HC run, a couple of years ago. @raj, it is very possible that we had summons out on transition, as we used them fairly extensively back then, and we would have had them up for the buff cycle on the preceding map. As Chain touched on, if/as soon as you see the damage proc: warn your party, fire immute or miracle if you have it, and everyone log. There is no realistic way of saving the run, but you can probably ask for a DM port back to the last map on another server. I like to think of it as flavor... why should PCs be the only ones to always set up "sure win" tactical scenarios against bosses!

Not quite the same situation, but there was that one time when someone went AFK in the death zone, and, through the bountiful use of Miracles, bios, and Immutes, I believe we not only won the fight, but got the AFKer the tag!

This issue is caused by the engine putting a toon in-area at a certain point in the map, and then force-dragging them to the actual designated entry point. If it is happening only very infrequently, it may be linked to something unpredictable. You can try experimenting with summons with a DM present, to see if having a summons spawned when you enter the final boss map triggers it reliably. Short of that, don't hold your breath for a fix. We have made multiple tweaks to try to prevent this, and while we have mostly eliminated the issue, it's proven difficult to completely stamp out.
