Good Afternoon Everyone!
I am someone thinking about coming back to NWN. I used to play on a PW Server that is no longer up and running. I had some of my favorite times while playing video games playing on that server. I miss those days and wanted to come back to the game. I came across this server and it seems very much like how the other server played. I have a very specific question though. On this other server, we had these items called 'Wishes' and these wishes could increase the base ability scores on you character permanently. Wishes and Greater Wishes could be bought or dropped off epic monsters. I think the cap on these ability scores was 50??? I kind of forget as this was many many years ago.
I was just hoping something like this system exists here.
Please let me know and thanks in advanced for anything on this subject.

You can get your ability scores up to 70's here with added levels and +16 from items, how ever there is no such thing that gives you permanent increases on abilities (ability artifact gives +2 to one stat of your choice). Server is balanced in terms of DC based on maximum achievable ability scores. If there were other ways to increase stats, that'd be countered by adding more saves on enemies and making such things must have to remain competent.

Nordberg First off, this server adds custom levels that go from level 40 to 80. You can add to your stats during leveling. You get a permanent +4 to all abilities after achieving Demigod I and II. You get another +2 when you go from level 60 to 80. And you can find very rare artifacts that grant you an additional +2 to an ability of your choice.

Thanks for replying! This is wonderful news! I like the idea of the 'advanced' levels! This brings a whole new level into the game. It looks exciting! I have been reading on the forums and I will be re-downloading the game in the next couple days. When that is done, I'll be playing a Sorc first. I had one on my previous server and am comfortable with it. I never had a cleric and wouldn't be comfortable with it. Thanks again!

Ugh ok so I downloaded the game and downloaded the ARF2 thing. I ran the updater and I think it said it failed. I'm not sure if it worked. Also I'm not 100% sure where to put the CEO files. Just wondering if there is any more info out there? Thanks again.

Just wondering if there is any more info out there? Thanks again. Just install CEP to your NWN directory. You should see folders that match the ones in the archive - tlk, hak etc. Copy from the archive and check the overwrite option if you're asked when copying. Feel free to ask again if you have more trouble. -S

Thanks Sabregirl! I was playing around with it last night and was able to get it working! I made a Sorc and was walking around the starting city! I made it to the bank and was reading the books given to me at the start. I will need to read up on more stuff later. I have a project to complete in another game which should only take a couple days. I should be able to log in more in a couple days or so! I'm getting pretty stoked now that I know this is working!

For your first character, I would highly recommend going through all of the Pre-Legendary Level accomplishments - not only do they provide bonuses that are especially beneficial for a sorcerer, but you'll get to see a lot more of the module than if you simply found a spot to grind up to 40. As a sorcerer, you should be able to solo pretty much every Pre-Legendary Level tag, with one or two exceptions. Hint: Isaac's Greater Missile Storm is your friend (but only for pre-LLs, you'll want to drop it after that).

I'd preface that soloing part by saying the first few levels as a brand new caster can be a bit rough. Once you get death magic though . . . (and I highly recommend spell foci in necromancy) you can wipe out spawns with a single cast of wail of the banshee, or a few circle of deaths. Casters are a very good choice in general for getting started. -S

Until you get death magic, just grab a couple summon scrolls from the shop in town and keep yourself invised.

I'll echo the comment about the pre-legendary accomplishments. They're mini-adventures in and of themselves, and they are a really fun introduction to the server. Plus, they give a bit of a boost to your character, which never hurts!
