As long as I can run it under Wine on my Linux box, I'm good.

I think the biggest plus to move to EE would be a good chance for a broader player base. A platform like steam will help with that big time and the better compatibility with modern OSes is certainly helpful. I mean, I don´t even remember anymore how many people I helped so far to set the right settings in the INI files and/or install the right haks etc. to make this old game run well under win 10 and alike... Stuff like that is a big showstopper especially for less experienced pc users and I think EE would help there.

Haven't coded/built/hosted for NWN in a couple years due to the master and list servers going down and several known/unfixed bugs and exploits. Beamdog seems intent on fixing some, possibly most, of these issues. That may breathe some new life into the NWN community. Would be happy to see that. NWN + Aurora + Dedi server (Windows or Linux) = your own private world for you and your friends. That + the customizability is a key reason NWN has been alive for so long. I look forward to seeing what they do.

Has anyone seen this? nwn.beamdog.net/I know ancient warriors trespasser had his original copy floating around before the original take down of nwvault. Just for testing? Maybe released with the "community content" EE is promised to come with? :\

@vysis I've actually been playing the SP version of POA redone by Genisys. It's nothing like HG at all. I wish I could find AW Tresspasser's version too

From what I've seen in these threads (beamdog's), NWN:EE is going to utterly fail like NWN2 did.
Edit: typo

I have been playing on the AW - POA on the EE. My 4 friends and I beg you to put a Higher Grounds POA server up. Allow us to relive the glory days once more.

Yeah I played on the AW-POA version which is quite different than original AW-POA, no item level restrictions, perma haste, free appearance changes at all times so not even an original PoA experience really. Definitely not an HG level experience by a long shot. But yes, HG EE is in the works. -S

Yaaaay! HG EE is something I'm gonna be looking forward to. Especially once they find a way to get all the scripting and such integrated.
Dunno if it would end up being a 'fresh start' server though, meaning that everyone would have to start over from scratch. Losing all those Immos and Demis and secret races would probably be a drastic hit on some players.

We don't delete characters, so it wouldn't be a start over from scratch, though likely we won't port the vault over immediately and there will be lots of testing on a "fresh" server. -S

EE seems to be quite interesting. It has me working on Trials of Newcastle again, and on another project with Scarface and Milliorn. I'm really enjoying it so far.
