yes, you can be a monk...
i dont know why bioware allowed to cross class monk... Its like people get adventage of that HUGE mistake. That way you can have a sorceress/monk (whatta heck). Sorceress are supposed to be only chaotic and monks only lafwul aligment. Aligment restrictions are made to mantain a balance. In D&D aligment its fundamental part of the game and story lines. hope thats fixed on the next edition of the game.
(in not sure if you can get a sorceres/monk character, but im a lawful blackguard and still can get to chosee sorceress from the list).

You can, one of my fav builds in single player was sorc/pally/monk or sorc/pally/blackguard. If we wanted, we could eliminate those builds from our server by removing the things that change alignment of players, but I really don't mind em. Yes, they are a bit unrealistic, but they allow a number of interesting build options. Part of the updating project in progress is to enhance the abilities of all classess, particularly the useless ones, to make a bunch of different builds interesting and different than they are on most servers.

yeah, i think you're right. Makes interesting builds. I was complaining about it and at the same time i was building a black guard/sorcerer (pale master) lol ;D... something you will rarely see in other D&D rules based game.
