My thoughts on the new mod after playing it for about a week: For what is now supposed to be an AC based server, the ABs for most of the monsters still seem a bit high. I've been hoarding AC items and have managed to get up to AC69 at lev24 and still every area i have tried has no problem hitting me. And what with the fact that I now have no resistances it only takes a few hits to finish me off. I've tried all the old classic areas like Abandoned Farm - Temple, rhazs, Fox trail - Zhentarim, Web1. And with the exception of Web where Groo had the pleasure of rezzing me about 50 times I've come away from all these areas with a distinct case of slappage around the bottom area. I'm now sulking outside Rips as I cant think of anywhere else to go and dont fancy the prospect of going back to the Formian mines where i've been LIVING since the purge, with the prospect of spending an entire weekend killing more forms to advance another level. Flash is not so flash anymore. He's just a slightly bright spark now.

As said in the greeting message, right when you login to HG: YOU ARE A BETA TESTER.
There is obviously, going to be major tweaking done to monsters (and if you read the other posts here, you would know the monsters were the only thing UNCHANGED in the MOD update, FunkySwerve couldnt do EVERYTHING at once. We thought it would be easier to have people play test, and then decide what to do with the monsters).
So, instead of complaining, just tell us what you think should be changed, from your personal experiences on the server.

OK after playing a bit more i dont think it needs lowering by that much, a lot of the 25-30 areas have ABs of +56 as a benchmark. This includes zhentarim, castle gaobin, and abandoned temple 1&2 as well as web 2. Meaning an AC of 76 is needed where it is possible for tanks to get about 70 odd with a shield, so if it was dropped by about 5-6 it would be doable IMO. I think web1 is about right, abandoned farm is just about doable and rhazs could be lowered a tad as its difficult enough trying to cope with the spectres, let alone the guards and the zombies (the zombies have an AB of 50 i think and i didnt get what the guards AB was with arrows unfortunately). I think thats about it, sorry if the previous post sounded like a bit of a rant, hopefully we can get the balance right soon -

Coupla things - 1) Tanks can get much higher, my first character on the server got to the mid eighties before switching to resistance gear, before the most recent purge. He was a classic tank. 2) ABs are coming down, quite a bit in some cases. An update last night nerfed as buncha monsters, check the bulletin boards in town for details. 3)The server is targeted at groups of 3 or more, soloers will have a hard time of it in many places. 4) Please post input on monsters in the thread created for that purpose. 5) The more specific the input, the faster the updates will be to the remaining monsters.
