I learned the hard way so you dont have to...
Quicken spell, Auto Q1, Auto Q2, Auto Q3 are all worthless feats to take. Any haste item aparently does the exact same thing as the combo of all 4 of these feats. And as a sorc/wiz/whatever, you know every feat counts a ton...
Just a lesson i learned the hard way one day, and am tyring to save anyone that may do the same thing a bunch of time/heartache.
Happy Adventuring

If that is true, then I thank you for the info I was curious about this.,.. But in my experience my mage has haste on always, and it feels like it takes a while for the spell to issue forth... I would imagine Quicken would make it come out as if from an item aka instantly...

I got it on the best of authority that this is, in fact, the case. That and some tests that i have done on my own seem to confirm it as well.
Someone please tell me i am wrong... Of course the 4 extra feats to use on other things are well worth the lesson learned.

use them on auto still spell instead and cast spells while wearing full plate and tower shield - (pally level required) Not as useful as it was now ethereal visage gives 80% - 90% conceal for nearly pure/pure casters but i know you can get a 38 sorc/pally/bard up to 104 ac with these 4 feats being a prime contributing factor

What about the new spell system though? The still spell does not negate the lowered spell eficiency penalty for casting armor does it? I am not talking about the % chance of spell failure for wearing armor but the increase in spell power at ahigher lvls taht has been implemented but with penalties for wearing anything more than robes and no shields.
I would like to know the answer to this.

For spells like ethereal visage and premonition, wearing anything other then robes reduces those spells back to their previous versions. This is done to maintain balance so we dont have a sorc/pally in immortal armor with 90% conceal and ungodly soak. It was intentional and wont be changing.

i agree completly with the limitation. i was just pointing out a consideration in useing up those feats for auto still if it negates some of your spells even with those feats.
