Was one of the first suggestions/opinions on the run, not sure if it's feasible to do anymore now than it was in the beginning, but it would be an upgrade regardless.
Issues: A) Doing stuff with the run, potentially more pressing matters to deal with like Mechanus, fixing p2 weapons, etc etc (same issue as Hell layer tagging thing). B) Creating two separate keys for p2 miniboss that would unlock the 3rd part. I think this would be imperative just because doing normal/hard mode part 3s would be the only thing anyone would ever do again as long as keys aren't exhausted. Since there are no pre-existing keys, this could be a good thing because people could at first amass keys and then go ham on them later, sounds fun.
That being said, I think the change would be a huge incentive for more people to be interested in it. Most people don't have the time slot to invest for p2 runs, and if they do they'd still prefer it to be less. The run is more of an endurance run rather than an actual challenge (which it provides amicably - the run itself is really great) - just too much of the same for one sitting.
Basically what IIRC Funky&Co were planning for Mechanus too - the runs would be a bit shorter and you would pick one of several to do at a time.

If you’re breaking it into 3 runs, moving map 2 to part 3 doesn’t fit thematically. You need to reduce spawns on the maps and keep the total number of maps the same. That will also be a way more appealing option to the devs.
